That's all really. Sooooo... sloooooow. It's a real problem and has been for a long time. I know I'm not the only one and it's not a new issue or anything but it's just got particularly bad on my Touch.

Any way around this? I know I can just cancel the backup but I actually want my data backed up.

How often do you back it up?

It usually takes a couple of minutes TOPS for me, but I back that thang up every day :p

Just curious, do you have Appsniper installed? Thats known to create longer backups as you use it.

Or you just have a lot of apps installed and you don't backup often.

I have been backing up roughly every two weeks, when I update my apps through iTunes or when adding new ones. Backup time was once several minutes but crept up and up and up. It's now over five hours.

never know why people are always having issues with backups..if I went without backing up for 2 weeks it'd probably take around 10-15 minutes. I sync mine every day though and it usually takes no more than 2 minutes

This is true, if you use Appsniper hit the "clear icon cache" in the options screen before you backup.

If not, don't know what to tell you.

No Appsniper. I have no idea what's causing the problem but it's really frustrating, as I'm sure you could imagine.
