So today I went to my Rogers Communication store to pick an iPhone 4, the clerck told me it was going to be there at 12 o'clock. I got there around 11:30 and I was happy to see that only 8 people where in line. Here's the problem, they only had four iPhone 4 available. There's about 150,000 people in my hometown, why did they even bothered? I understand the demand is great and the supply isn't but this is just insulting. Anyone else think they should have waited instead of sending 4 phones for a community of 150,000 people? How was you experience getting an iPhone 4 today? Edit: I decided to call around for fun, there's an outlet mall about half an hour from my hometown, they're sold out of course, yep, both of them sold really fast... the guy on the phone couldn't stop laughing with me, it is a bit of a joke after all.
Apple stores got the lion's share of iPhones -- Square One Mississauga had at least 1,000. I actually braved the launch day line to get 2 of them. Got there at 7:15am. Just got out about 15 minutes ago at 7pm with my phones in tow. There were about 800 people ahead of me when I got there and we all got ours. As I type there are still at least 200 people in line, but they were starting to tally people's purchases about an hour and a half before I was let in to estimate where in the lineup they were likely to run out. By comparison, all 4 phone stores in the mall only had at most a dozen devices.
