i could see this replacing my magazine i get in the mail. leave it on the table.. pick it up and read the latest electronic rag. reading morning news. the adds focus on surfing the web. thats great but it would need to have flash.. and java support for it to be any good at that. and i would try to get better playing sway.. could have some board games i guess you could play with group of people with it on the table.. so it has a place.. i do not think it will sell as well as apple is hoping. but you know you got to take gambles if you want to make it big.. he did good on the iphone/pod touch. i would consider this.. but im running a old ipod touch 2 32gigs. so my next apple purchase will be a gen 4 ipod. chris. well what do you know.. just got off the phone with my parents. they want the ipad.. there old eyes will enjoy the bigger screen.. and they want it for electronic media.. step dad wants to read his forums and magazines on it.. mom wants to read her books. so who knows.. if they get one ill have to snag it for a day and see whats it like besides pictures. my parents are late 50s-early60s. so maybe the baby boomers will lap theses up and make apple look good. laughs.
Watching that video, i have to wonder if one of their main focuses is to go up against the Kindle and Nook, what with the ibook store, the focus on web and the way the device is designed.
I'm a little dissappointed it's not as much of a computer as we thought it would be, but it is still very cool and pretty affordable and will give us a much more personal and deep experience when using all the apps we already know & love! =D
I'm disappointed too because it won't be like a computer coz it won't have USB ports, etc. but let's not judge it now, let's just wait for it to come out and maybe there are other things it can do that it may lift it over other tablets for now, i'm very happy for Yao Ming and the rest of the gang at least now they can join as enjoy iGaming and i'm pretty sure Yao can play NOVA well unlike the one on the STP vid
iv been learning to use photoshop etc. man this would be killer for photopshop. i could draw on my couch and get better. i hope adobe ports a full feature version of there photoshop for it. if they did.. i would really consider buying it on that alone. even tho i suck at photoshoping and art in general i do enjoy wasting hours of time drawing stuff.. one day i may even get good. LOL. ok, im lying to my self ill never get good. but whatever, chris.
More videos where the current ones came from in the coming days =] Andrew did tell me that simpler iPhone games, as well as virtual board games, generally worked seamlessly on the iPad. However, games with lots of buttons and controls such as NOVA (we didn't get to play the new version) will need to be optimized. It seems a ton of developers are jumping on the bandwagon, however, so it hopefully won't be too much of a problem.
Ipad!?!?! sounds like something I can get for my mom. joking, but this turned out to be a disapointment for me because it's heavy in price and the design issss.... meh.
People were expecting it to be double the price, so at least its not that over the top. It is by no means cheap, though!
i could see sitting at the table with the family playing a digital board game.. could be fun. and i agree its cheaper than what i originally thought.. i was expecting 1k. chris.
PLUS ONE FOR THAT!! photoshop would be fantastic. We haven't tried, but I'm sure you could get some sense of how hard the finger is pressing and adjust brush size accordingly. Or they could make a stylus that reads the press strength and sends it to the ipad via bluetooth
I don't like the frame - I expected it to have a fuller screen, especially with the thumb controls we find on all our game apps. -John
yeah i was thinking stylist.. let the kids finger paint with out the mess... wait what fun is that for a kid.. finger painting is all about getting paint all over the house. LOL i have a bamboo tablet for my computer i use with photo shop. seems they should be able to design a stylist like that that works with touch screens. chris.
If i had one of these i would be scared to bring it anywhere. And isnt that the point? That its portable. I would be afraid to drop it. One drop and this thing is toast. Would need a major replacement plan on this.
hmm i do not see it like that. i see it as a portable around the house.. even if I saved my penny's to buy one.. i doubt i would take it with me like i do my ipod. i may get one i dunno. i need to save my pennies for the gen 4 ipod first as my ipod will be outdated soon im sure. with future software to come.. over the next year... and I hope the new ipod comes with a camera.. or ill feel dumb not just buying gen 3... and getting on with life. laughs chris.
