once i get a ipod touch for christmas i want to give it some kind of proection from scratches. the touch colors is nice because the case can be removed and it comes with a screen protector and its less than $20. the invisible shield, to me, seems risky because i dont want to have to wet the whole thing to apply it and on almost all the vids the corners give people alot of hard time gettin to stick. anyone have any experiences with either of these products and have any tips or adivce on which to get?

edit: just noticed i typed of instead of or, please ignore that

The invisible shield works great, but its a pain to apply (and it looks incredibly tacky if you don't apply it just right).

I have used the invisible shield on 5 of my devices so far. When I get a new ipod for my son next week, his will get the shield too.

Corners are not totally down tight on my ipod, but I keep it in a belkin silicone case in addition to the invisible shield. (And that silicon case goes into a padded holster when I carry it around.)

everything but one corner was perfect... but I'm such a stickler for having everything look neat and tidy that I couldn't get over the fact that one corner looked tacky so I ended up taking it off

I have had a 3rd gen iPod Touch since September, and no screen scratches. I use the iSkin Touch Duo Case, which is very comfy and has a screen protector for traveling/ putting in your pocket when your device isn't in use. It also comes with a screen protector if you want more security. I think if you buy it on their website, you also get a free pair of headphones. (I got it off Amazon)

http://iskin.com Just look under iPod Touch and you should find the case.

Really? I used the screen protector (one of the two) that they gave me and I found them slightly scratched but I still used them and they're really scratched up now, I thought my iPod looked better without them because the screen's more resistant. And the rebel touch is a pain to put on, I cut my finger with the edge trying to fit it on :( But it offers great protection and looks awesome.

Does it show an odd texture, that looks almost like the surface of an orange peel, when the light is a bit poor or dim?

I used the Invisible Shield on my iPhone 3g and liked it a lot. The surface can be a bit 'sticky' sometimes but it is high quality, has a lifetime warranty, and I got the people at the mall to put it on pretty much perfectly :)

When I got an iPhone 3gs I used the protector that came with my Rebel Touch case also, and I noticed a weird looking texture when in dim light. You can't see it in daylight, and you can't feel it, but it was enough to bother me to get another Invisible shield.

I've tried quite a few and Invisible shield is my favorite. I don't like the anti-glare/anti-fingerprint screens because they have a grainy texture and the screen does not look as sharp with it on.

I can't say I've had either of those problems, there isn't a single scratch on the protector and it looks perfectly clear, the only odd texture is my fingerprints when I'm too lazy to clean it. Maybe since I'm in the UK they ship different protectors with the cases?

Yeah that makes sense, you'd definitely notice it.

guess the invisibleshield is still best choice..I really hate how all 4 corners aren't on properly and are getting dusty. I've only had it on for a couple weeks but might take it off soon.
the bottom area with the headphone jack and dock connector are aligned perfectly so I don't see how adjusting the invisible any would do the corners any good..and the apple store at the mall where i live doesn't sell them so I don't think I can get them to apply it for me
also what do you guys do with that application solution when you're done? just throw it away or keep it there..it says it can be refilled..is the invisibleshield removeable?

I think it's supposed to be removable and transferable but I haven't tried. I don't even like putting them on myself because I never get it right- the folks at the mall are much better :) I just keep the application solution in the box... don't really have much use for it and don't plan on removing the screen. You could put water in it and use it as a mist bottle in the summer or sumthin' :)
