Yeah, but the first game didn't really define who you were, and having the same face every time would've seemed odd (not anymore though). I think with this game it's perfectly reasonable to expect to see the characters' faces, but it could go either way. And as far as the god-king being a good guy goes, your guess is as good as mine. I'm sorta under the impression that Siris hates him for no good reason, and that The god-king is just a ruler trying to protect his people. It sorta depends on how you look at it. Maybe IB2 will expand on that more
Yeah I feel like this would be more dynamic if God king turns out to be the good guy. I would actually like it that way but I have a feeling they don't want you (Siris) to end up being bad so they'll figure out a way to make God king evil. This is what I see from all the info we get from IB1 + Book: Spoiler God king uses the blade to keep the Deathless in check. The only bad thing he does is "taxing citizens & forcing them to mine (?)" which doesn't seem so horrible as he's made out to be. The other bad thing he does is using your bloodline to power the blade. Then if I got my facts right, he clearly states that in IB1 when you join him that there are those Deathless more powerful than he and they're corrupt and you have to destroy them (sounds like he's doing a good deed!). The book makes it clear that Deathless are the bad guys and humans are the weakest link. Sounds to me that if it wasn't for God king, the Deathless woulda massacred everyone. And it's forgotten and not mentioned a lot that Godking used to be a mortal human. The book even goes to lengths to explain how he doesn't kill human servants like other Deathless would... Only question is what he'll do with the IB since it's now powered up but I'm assuming he'll kill the Deathless like he tells you in IB1. So he STILL sounds like a good guy. Deathless obviously don't like him from their dialogue in the book. The last thing I want to comment is on how odd Siris seems at the end of the book (I don't want to call him stupid..). He seems to have the same goal as Godking. The only problem is that they both are fighting over the infinity blade. God King --> wants to kill Deathless. Siris --> wants to kill Deathless. In a way, I don't even like Siris because now I perceive him as the bad guy or at least naive. GK is the true protector.. he's just one of those "heroes" that's kinda cool/mean.
yeah IB1 was fine... but honestly, once you finished it or better yet when you've gone through one session of buying everything/leveling up max/grinding all the equipement, there's not much left to do other than coming back to it from time to time just to spare a couple of fights... IB1 was fine but was more a technical demo IMO. I just hope IB2 will be much more deeper and interesting, and not just something allowing keynotes-douchebags to wank themselves about how GGGGGGOrgeous it is with koi swimming in the pond and whatever makes it much more beautiful (and buy apple products ! they carry the new A5 processor ! that is if you want GGGGGGGGorgeous things in ur pocket !)
New interview from pocketgamer... not much new info, but here it is if you want to check it out: http://www.pocketgamer.co.uk/r/Multiformat/Infinity+Blade+2/news.asp?c=35167
If you've read any interviews you'd know how much deeper Infinity Blade 2 is compared to the first one.
Yay - ps - if this doesn't run on the iPad 2 (more capable than 4s aside from larger but lower Rez/Pix screen), there's gonna be Hell to pay. Been putting off the 4s for the 5, but we may need 2 cells upgraded in the near future anyway. This might turn me off, even though I'm already heavily invested in the ecosystem. Aside from technical limitations due to older/less capable devices, iOS gaming should not segregate or exclusivise games to this nature. Any way, may be a Day 1 buy for me depending on how things shake out.
http://www.gametrailers.com/episode/gametrailers-tv/140?ch=4 If you're anticipating IB2 you HAVE TO see this! It'll give you a good preview. Some highlights are: * There's "perfect parries" so it seems that you can get different types of parries * You can see the new weapon item screen showing the gem slots (the item screen looks more user friendly this time around) * See a new enemy that uses a staff weapon * Some fighting footage * See awesomeness
Wow... this is awesome! Not only is the fighting system much more involved, with a revamped parrying and blocking system, but they've also added more strategy and skill in attacking, and even in weapon customization (idk if you guys noticed but some weapons have more gem slots than others... this might be significant when it comes time to equipping Siris). Plus, enemies with entirely new styles of attack? Almost too much. Cant wait for the extra variety and challenge from the new enemies, in IB1 you could mostly memorize all of the combos used by the enemies, but no way that'll ever happen here. Can't wait!!!
Woah. So awesome. So so awesome. Also, on the sane site I found a 45 second trailer that shows gameplay that wasnt in the episode. found it! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R8vp_j-US9o
Just noticed in the trailer that the gem slots for the weapons all have a unique shape, so it looks like gems will only fit into certain slots.
I didn't notice that, but the trailer goes quickly. I'm happy the game is gonna launch with more than 5 of armor types
Yeah, and they all look really cool too. Plus, using dual swords is inherently badass... one more thing. I saw that one of the armors didn't allow dodging. so I guess some armors are specialized to your attack style? because I don't think you'd want to take away the dodge ability when dual wielding...
Yeah the main problem I had with IB items was the lack of armor. I hope they made at least 10 for IB2. I guess it's really hard to design armor? Good catch! I'm loving the strategy involved here.. makes me even more hyped up for the release.. 3 weeks away... Also they're smart this time... they increased the item attack damage cap. In IB1 they had to make everything weaker than the IB that's +200 i think? Now some of these lances are +600 lol. I'm sure they're weaker than the IB realistically but they changed it so they don't get stuck with weak weapons.
New Hands-on from touchgen: http://www.touchgen.net/infinity-blade-2-hands-on didn't find much new info, just that some items can't be bought and are only available through looting, and that some chests require keys. Sounds like they'll add new info on a weekly basis, as the release gets closer.
