In an interview Donald Mustard said they changed the language toile it easier to follow, so you don't need to read subtitles during every cutscene. I think it starts with the other language though, kinda to transition it, so people aren't confused
actually you don't start off right at the end of the book but near the end. so it makes sense the "tutorial" portion will give you the IB and that awesome armor. and it also makes sense that you'll have to buy that armor again later if you want it, as they'll probably take it away from you and give you something really crappy after the tutorial ends =p
Well said bro! I will give credit to chair for an amazing graphics but they shouldn't stop there. They wowed us with IB (graphics wise) and they got away with it. The Era of graphic awesomeness for IOS has passed, we have seen it already. Dead Space, NBA JAM, Real Racing 2 and a few others has shown iPhone's capabilities. Now, they had preaty much a year to wow us with gameplay, but from the trailers, it looks same to me. Boring and repetitive gameplay. Look at Shadowgun, beautiful graphics but boring and shallow gameplay.
Except for the fact that Infinity Blade had fun gameplay that truly showed how iOS games should be controlled. Or that infinity blade 2 is a lot deeper than the original, both story and gameplay wise. I'll admit that shadow gun was shallow and repetitive, but it was still fun. @scorpionxd lucky! I have to wait until 10 tomorrow night!
Okay, what kind of gameplay would suit Infinity Blade? Unintuitive button-mashing? How about placing a movement stick to do the same things you already can--without all the cinematics? How would engaging an enemy even work? Seriously, the developers aren't going to drastically change how the game works just to satisfy the small minority that didn't like the first game. The combat in IB is unique and challenging. From the sounds of all the whiny complaints, I'd say some people would prefer IB to be some sort of lame mash-fest.
Even though most would agree its controls and gameplay suit the iOS devices just as Skyward Sword slashin suits the Wii...
It has a 5-star rating and is in the top 25 on the paid charts one year after release. I'm pretty sure a few million people weren't tricked into buying the game and rating it a full score by just its amazing graphics. Got away with it? They're still selling thousands of copies of the game daily a year later. I don't think hype is still driving these purchases, do you? Infinity Blade was a benchmark game for the iOS in every respect, and Infinity Blade 2 will be another masterpiece from Epic like to top the first. I still don't get where you guys are getting the "most people want Infinity Blade to have free roam" thing from. Clearly, the majority (over 95% gave IB a 4 or a 5 star rating) of AppStore customers don't share "most people's" opinions then.
I think the gameplay is fun and really don't care to much about the graphics. If you don't like the gameplay thats cool but dont insult people by saying they are being tricked into liking it because it looks pretty. I think people are seeing how it looks and expecting something else. I like it for what it is not what other people want it to be.
Just caught up on all the info and videos. Wow this looks incredible and it might be the first time I stay up to play a game Wed night. Deleted IB in anticipation. Hoping for less then 1.5 gb uncompressed.
To be honest I'm not sure where you got this from either, clearly a reasonable doubt has lead u to this assumption since people have long been asking for this. To be clear, I like the gameplay as it is (battles anyways) but the lack of free exploration, to me, is immersionless. Besides, I don't think anyone here has been whining, just stating personal opinions. Drogbathlegend wasn't whining, nor was I and even chase. So yeah, I think it's a matter of you wanting to be a prick in this case, no offense. Now I shall stop posting in here.
Epic Games is a business. They don't cater to the under 5% of the population that's dissatisfied with Infinity Blade and have no need to. As I said, only a very small minority is asking for free roam in terms of the entire AppStore customer base.
Honestly I like the way Infinity Blade is. It's not completely on-rails, it's not free-roam, but a mix in between. Admittedly however the first game gave you very little choice (basically a 'right or left', sometimes not even that). The sequel, which i believe is 6 times bigger?, should change that, with varying paths, making it closer to free roam than the original (more choice) but still using the same system. A great call, in my opinion...
idk if this is even worth getting for my ipad 1. IB1 doesn't even work so I doubt IB2 with more RAM needed, higher graphics, etc. I hope my iPhone 4 can also handle it.
I apologize for being unaware of your status as a business manager, promoter and customer anylizer. 5% is very small minority and if your facts are correct there is no reason for them to even consider it. But if you look back at that video, I believe there is no question that would have been an awesome game, especially the way they hyped it. I also apologize for unnecessary sarcasm
As I stated earlier in the thread, the AppStore shows 120,000 5 star reviews vs. 18,000 1-4 star reviews. When this changes we will possibly see free roam. Also, the AppStore, as well as this forum, actually represent a very small portion of the people who leave reviews/comments. Bactothis' comment (plus a couple other ones) just further elaborates on what I said earlier. Why would a developer fix something that's not broken, especially when they personally don't like free roam?

Come on, who here really opposes the thought of an open world IB?! I dare u to watch that video and come back and say it doesn't spark interest in that sort of game. Anyways, just because people aren't bashing a game with 1* reviews, doesn't mean people aren't open to the idea. IB is a great game (if u can get over the repetition of doing the same paths again and again).
I don't think some people understand that forums like this represent a tiny percent of the total iOS customer base. Of all the family friends, classmates and coworkers I have that use an iOS device, I wouldn't be surprised if I'm the only one who has even heard of Touch Arcade. To think that the opinion of a fraction of TA users somehow represents the opinion of iOS users who bought IB on a bigger scale is ludicrous.
