I respect your opinion of the game, but the bold part, i'm so tired of it !

Seriously.... this is a fighting game (with RPG elements and fancy graphics)...Why would you want to roam around ?
I mean, why not you ask Capcom for some free roaming in Street Fighter 4 ?

Epic Citadel was a tech demo. The essence of the gameplay in IB is the fighting mechanics, not the "look around and pick up potions" part..
What ? You want them to change it so you can "walk around & pick up potions" ? Apart from the fact that this would ruin the pace of the game, if you want fancy graphics and useless free roaming, play Epic Citadel.

If you want free roaming, quests, dungeons, etc... I mean a true rpg, go play the ES series or Aralon etc...
Because, you know, this is a Fighting Game :)

Thank you so much for putting it like that! I'm so tired of people complaining because it's on rails.

By the way, whoever posted that ign video, thanks, it was sooooooo cool :)

Look guys, I know "on rails" has a bad reputation, I get it. But that's not a reason to say this isn't going to be a good game. But as many have said before me, why would you need to run around the castle for, to collect potions? The focus of the game is on the fighting, and if you prefer exploration to fighting, you might as well get a different game. Also, I keep hearing how everyone thought the first IB was repetitive. The new one looks to fix this by adding more enemies and different paths, so you're not traveling the same path to the godking every bloodline. If you're not interested, that's fine; just no use in telling everyone how it's gonna suck. If you didn't like the first one, you probably won't like this. And about all the reviews on the app store... Would it really have brought in way over $10 million dollars for chair if gamers hated it and thought it was repetitive after bloodline 1, which lasts maybe 20 min? Most of the people that write comments feel strongly about the game, in this case they see how high the rating is and want to go against that to persuade buyers not to get it, because they didnt like it. But the fact of the matter is, it won countless awards and was one of the most successful app store games ever. No way you can say that the majority of gamers hated it, when they continued to buy it. If you don't like it it's ok, but please stop trolling our thread saying how you hate it and it's gonna suck.

    So....if a game sells well,it is quality?
    Since when?
People buying Infinity Blade might have bought it because of the graphics, don't you think? It is not necessarily the gameplay, you know.

People buy games that are good, that's what it shows. If it was bad, no one would by it

yes they do. Here's the link:

So I'm guessing that the mysterious guy on the throne at the beginning is the worker of secrets?

And I honestly don't mind criticism of a game, when its deserved. After all, we can't blindly praise every iOS game out there, and some of them have serious flaws, even the AAA ones. But I just feel like the criticism people have for Infinity Blade is unfounded. They repeatedly cry about it being "on rails", but its just not an open world game. It's a fighting game, not an RPG (although it has RPG elements, for sure), therefore the emphasis is on the fighting sections. The travel node system they use just facilitates reaching the next battle in a way that is intuitive and simple to use. The other argument is that its "boring" and "repetitious". Well, if you find the fighting system "boring", you're probably better off not getting IB2, since its pretty much the same, just a whole lot deeper. If you're really not into swiping and tapping your screen to fight people, its probably just not for you. As for it being "repetitious", they've taken many steps to keep each bloodline fresh and new. There's many new paths you can travel down now, each one atleast as long as the one from IB1. Also, new paths will open up as you progress through the bloodlines (for example, a tree slowly grows in one section, after a few bloodlines you can climb it to reach a new area). Additionally, there's now five times the number of unique enemies to battle, and some of them have brand new attacks, like the bladed staff moves and magic (there's even multiple "godking-level" bosses to defeat. And to keep you interested, they added a real story this time around. And I haven't even touched on multiplayer. So no, this game will not be repetitious in the sense that the first one was, although the combat system of the first kept me interested in itself (combat system in IB2 is also revamped and is now much deeper). As for criticism that IB1 was just a tech demo, I think the above info should also debuff the argument that IB2 will be one too.

Basically, I don't mind criticism. But, if you're going to criticize a game and discourage others from buying it, you need to give reasons for why its a bad game, not just that you didn't like it, or that it sucked.

So, if you didn't acquire the infinity blade in the first game, you start off the sequel with the infinity blade ?

I'm sure most of us can agree that IB is a pretty amazing visual treat and this sequel will be even better a display of graphics. It's gameplay is definitely unique to this platform on ios which I feel is really fun. I can also agree I would like some freedom to explore around and convert this whole work into a lengthy kick ass version of like Aralorn but it's not. I've gotten over that hope. I do like the gameplay a lot though and after reading the book in anticipation of this release, I wen back to the game I originally thought was repetitive and played through to it's completeness finally. I really don't understand how this book didn't become a mandatory for everyone to hear somehow. It really adds to the enjoyment level of the game and universe. It immerses you to care more about the protagonist Sirus and really invites you along into the story. I say get more people to read or Chair needs to make a few webisodes from in game graphics or something to get the true story out there. And maybe more people would enjoy the game better. Cause it was comical how the first game had like Zero story to work with. Everyone needs to get over it. This isn't going to be a Skyrim on the iPhone, although that would be amazing too :)

A year later and there are still complaints about the game being on rails. Clearly, the formula works. That's why there's a sequel, and not a half-assed one either. Seriously, if we had other large players from the industry like Epic making quality iOS games like the IB series, the AppStore would be a truly amazing place for even core gamers. Not only have these guys not gone down to rock-bottom prices, they've been selling their game like crazy for an entire year and proved that there's an audience for games targeted at core players on the AppStore. No one is asking you to buy anything.

    Agreed.

When I started getting games for my iPhone I got free or cheap ones. Mainly games I had played when I was a kid.

But games like Infinity Blade, Street Fighter IV Volt, King of Fighters, etc. have proved there is room for AAA games in the Appstore. I hope the flow continues improving.

Pardon? My logic says you first buy IB1 an play it deeply, then you read the book and lastly you buy IB2 and play it deeply. This doesn't mean you begin with IB1, but you'll probably enjoy IB2 much more if you play IB1 first.

oh fyi to the complainers, IB1 got a bunch of awards, is nominated for many awards, and received many top marks from review sites. i'm sure those people weren't "tricked" into the hype.

i guess if you don't like on rails then don't get it. kinda like EPOCH. it's cool but if you don't like the style then don't buy it. you also have to take in the size considerations. once it becomes explorable think about how big the game size would be with all those graphics (and probably a lot more crashing). many people just won't have the room to install it.
