Is there a place that I could buy an iMac cheaper. Or could I purchase a mac mini and hook it up to a monitor normally used on windows?
Apple doesn't make proprietary monitors that only work on Apple computers. Their monitors are just like all the other monitors you see in store shelves, and they all work on all laptops or desktops with hdmi, VGA cable, etc.
