I watched alot of Naruto's back in Highschool, waiting for each episode to get translated... im looking for something new Im considering re-watching Dragon Ball Z, Cowboy Bebop, and Ronin Warriors... I also want to pick up some comics and I think Im going to get some more Manga-esque but Im open to any suggestions of Graphic Novels.
Studio Ghibli is a must. It's in a world of its own. Spirited Away is the first and only anime to ever win Academy Award for Best Animated Feature (beating Finding Nemo!) Other Ghibli titles I recommend: Totoro, Grave of Fireflies, Princess Mononoke, Howl's Moving Castle, Laputa, Lupin III. Apart from that, Tekkon Kinkreet is also pretty good. For manga, try Vagabond, the first few chapters are awesome though I feel the quality dropped a bit since around 20.
There is a pretty cool iphone reader for OneManga.com which has tons of Mangas. http://imanga.co.cc/ The Dev's name is Neo and was pretty receptive to some suggested changes.
anything that beat Finding Nemo is a definite checkout, a friend of mine is a big fan of death note, or 2 of 'em, so its on the radar...
Definitely. Also, Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind is a good movie, and a GREAT manga. Best ever maybe. Miyazaki's animation is a thing to behold, but this one also shows he is a master of the comic as well.
I feel like Ive seen some of these before, Im a bit confused wether your talking about Anime or Manga tho, I'd appreciate the clarification I love Princess Mononoke, but Im looking for series to keep my occupied, although any movies like that are more then welcome... Lupin was also interesting.. How would you guys rate what I listed, like Ronin Warriors, worth paying cashmoney?
I recommend pretty much ANYTHING by Rumiko Takahashi, if you haven't read her stuff already. Azumangah Daioh, One Piece, Shaman King, Rozen Maiden, If you like horror, try Uzumaki or Parasyte. Ive seen one good manga thats only available in the App Store, called PS Triple, i highly recommend that.
Apart from Vagabond, all I mentioned above were anime. I watched Ronin warriors, it's good, but it's mainstream manga like Naruto or Dragon Ball. Not much depth or art, but still good to kill the time. I wouldn't say they're rubbish because it just depends on what you feel like watching. Like, sometimes I prefer watching some deep or epic movies while at other times I prefer watching popcorn or gory movies.
Oh yes, i forgot about anime... anything based on the mangas i mentioned earlier, plus Tenchi Muyo, Project A-ko, Perfect Blue or Paprika, and .hack//SIGN
I just listed them because they're all the oldies I used to watch on Cartoon Network.. i just remember Ronin Warriors being cool.. Naruto didnt used to be mainstream (atleast in the states), now its ridiculous thanks for all these suggestions.. I will slowly be looking @ this stuff
