I setup a free US account for redeem promo code before and it works fine. Yesterday I changed my password. And then it required me to update the billing information. There is still a NONE option at the payment. But it ask me to fill in the credit card info to pass. Now. I can redeem codes but I cannot update any app for this account. I think if there is a credit (some money) in this account, it may not ask for the credit info. So I want to try for $10/15.
You know you can just create a free iTunes account w/o the credit info? There's even instructions on apple.com on how to do this. If anything buy a us card online and ship it?
I know that Apple has a post to teach us how to create account without credit card. http://support.apple.com/kb/ht2534 I can create a FREE account without credit card before. But now, it does not work anymore. I tried to create another account but failed. I had US account for redeem app and HK account for purchase app. Now I can update apps which bought by HK account. But I cannot update any app which redeemed by US account.
