I concur. Jet Car Stunts and MiniSquadron are great games and they're great for the iPhone. And I see what people are saying about how Gameloft brings console games to the iPhone and how they use the iPhone to it's fullest abilities, but at one point I was playing Eliminate and I realized something. Why the [] am I playing this game on my tiny little iPhone, using mediocre controls on a couple of maps when I could be playing an amazing console version of this? I think the iPhone's better off with games like Pocket God, Doodle Jump, MiniSquadron, Boost, and Soosiz. And maybe even some good racing games like Real Racing, but some games are just pointless. I feel so stupid trying to emerse myself on an FPS for such a tiny little screen without actual buttons or a D-Pad.

very true, FPS is doomed on the ipod. Although i felt the controls were fine and I played it when I only had a few minute breaks. Console games make you feel unsatisfied if you dont play for at least an hour.

Ok so I can't say I don't like any Gameloft games anymore. Got Shrek Kart on Thanksgiving - Love it! It's exactly what it should be for a mobile go-kart racing app. And a sale price of $.99 is something you just can't beat!

One of the problems I see with gameloft is that they are trying to get one game to cover every genre on the app store, so they seem to be pushing out so many games because of it. While they make good games some of them feel rushed and could have easily been nicer with a little more dev time and polish.

    New games!

    Gameloft,
Please put out your renditions of "Rock N Roll Racing", or even "Twisted Metal". I won't even call them a rip-off if they turn out great and true to their inspiration. Name them something like, DeathDrive, or Ozzy's Hellraiser's(All Rock music(Ozzy, Kiss, Metallica etc..) and the driver characters are Ozzy, Gene Simmons, etc.. This can be for console and iphone versions! Everyone would buy this! Unless they like easy listening and Waltz music :)

Those fans could be catered to with the addition of Lawrence Welk, Wayne Newton, and Yonni.

I love gameloft but when they crank out this many games is that some dont get noticed that would normally be at the top of the appstore

I disagree. I could also ask why do you play FPS on a console when they are clearly meant for a mouse and keyboard?

The iPhone is not meant to be a replacement for a console or a desktop. It's meant for brief games on the go. If you want to play for hours on end a day you should not be looking at a portable device.

The controls on games like Eliminate, Modern Combat & COD are fine for the most part.

In addition to those 4000 employees, they have offices around the world and their main revenue source now derive from App Store. I believe that they have shifted their company focus to the platform.

GAMELOFT is also a publisher, not just developer - so some of the games are made by other companies.

I agree with what a lot of you guys are saying- It just seems like their games have no soul. Completely polished, empty shells that are entertaining but you feel like something is missing. A lot of them are very fun games but I don't like playing them that much. Out of the 4 or 5 titles I've bought from them, they've only stayed on my iPod for a few days or so. Sandstorm was the only one I actually played all the way through. I think I just don't like playing them because the company is so huge. It's like buying something from Wal-Mart when you could buy it from a mom-and-pop store across the street.

yes I agree. I actually thought the controls were fine on eliminate, but I was trying to appease those who didnt.
