To me, it just feels like they put no soul into the game, and they're just cranking them out like cheap bicycles at a Hong Kong plant.

This thread is sooo funny! Gameloft games are garbage plain and simple. Why the constant need to defend them. Is there anyone out there who really thinks gameloft could stand toe to toe with activision? COD zombies is a better game in every fathomable way than that crappy cash in modern combat. Modern combat with iron sights just makes me laugh. Must have gotten held up in development, around the time of the vietnam war. They can pump so many games out for the simple fact that they out source to shit loads of smaller devs as well as there own developing arm to push out the hollowest, fastest, fill the slot game, to sate the drooling console depraved masses. Honestly, what's one gameloft character that has enough charisma to actually create a credible franchise?

Well, Rogue Planet is extremely fun. But I digress, since Agharta Studios actually developed it and Gameloft only published it.

I can't knock that! I haven't played the game, but it sure doesn't look like your typical generic gameloft product. It actually looks like.....oh my god...it may have some ideas of it's own:eek:

 It's the dawn of a new age for Gameloft! But you should really check it out, I've been only playing Rogue Planet ever since I got it. All my other games feel lonely...

I like TBS but I'm not a junkie...I've enjoyed Command and conquer series, warfare inc, and mecho wars....but non of these blew me out of the water. I gotta say the teaser art and gameplay video look outstanding....I hate to sound like so many 10 year olds on here...but should I give it a shot?

Yes, Rogue Planet is simply amazing. There's a level of detail both graphically and gameplay wise that the games you mentioned do not have. Plus, it's not a port - it's an entirely NEW game crafted with the iDevice in mind. Suffice to say, I'm very happy with the game. Give it a shot, and even if you're a newcomer to the TBS genre I'm quite sure you'll at least be satisfied with the purchase.

You should really be proud of what you did. I mean Russ and You, that's alot less than let's say 25 people working on Dungeon Hunter...

they are a huge company, yes they do rip off games but if they didn't you wouldn't be playing these games on your iDevice. Plus the quality of these games are really good unless you a stuck up dick

Stuck up dick here! Actually your comment may have held some weight 4 months ago. Now with cod zombies, and GTA coming to the platform, can you really stand by that argument? If gameloft wasn't around I'd still be playing call of duty. Shit they didn't even have to hype it......at all.

I tend stay away from most Gameloft games, I personally prefer to not be playing these "console" type games on my iPod than to be playing crappy console type games on my iPod.

Something is better than nothing doesn't apply to me in this situation.

That's just my opinion of course, no offense to anybody that likes Gameloft's offerings.

I agree with whoever said that Gamelofts games lack any type of soul or heart. I believe Russ(Ravensword) said something similar in a TA podcast. Completely captured what I dislike about Gameloft with what he said.

So is it a matter of the games that Gameloft creates themselves are the "problem" apps but the ones they publish that are developed by others aer actually good games? Or is Rogue Planet their first foray into publishing a game for a third party? If they've done it in the past were those also "good" titles? Just curious.

none of those games actually would be out if it wasnt for gameloft... I like gameloft for letting devs know what the ipod is capable of. Yea there games are blatant ripoffs, but it showed that the ipod could handle the original. Ive been following everything on the ipod, and the fact that CTW wasnt announced for ipod until gangstars success didnt surprise me. COD Zombies didnt surprise me either, because I already predicted those were coming. I knew they would come, because they were doable on the ipod. Im not justifying that gamelofts ripoffs are awesome or anything, im just saying that because of them, the other devs are flocking at the quick bucks to be made on the appstore.
