What is a good way to resist impulse buys besides keeping your iTunes cards in a safe?

One thing that has helped me, if its not on TA's front page I normally won't get it. That has slowed down some of the buying. Going on vacation has also helped; but did cost more.

what i do is, if i see a game i like and want to buy, i make a note of it. then after i have a few games built up on my list, i choose which one i REALLY want. then i buy it :) i keep the other games on the list for future buys.

now seriously. i think you should plan a rule, like one purchase a week, or a limit of 2 dollars a week. something like that.

ps- i have a noob question: do gift codes have expire dates???

    No.

Well, I already tried the $ limit, but it seems that I always seem to get them anyways. It only works when there aren't any $1 games I want that week. I only impulse buy on $1 games. Problem is, I also have the issue of buying several premium price games (ex. 4-10) games multiple times a week when they happen to come out that week. I sometimes wait for impressions on TA, but it doesn't matter anyways; I still get them one way or another. I only wait for sales on apps I am on the edge about. The purchase # method doesn't work for me; if you spend $20 on one app, vs. $1 on another, it doesn't matter; the $20 is equivalent of plenty of apps. This way, I could get away with buying a gameloft game every week without (technically) hurting my subconscious.

If you take suggestions given to you, and call them "crap," then don't ask for our help and go ahead and bury yourself in an iPod App debt because you have no self control over your spending.

    Grow up.

look at your bill. if thats not enough to snap you out of it then its either not enough of an issue or you have issues.
