    We now have a few more things that we want to tweak.
    To the guys on 2G's, we hadn't tested the game on a 2G device yet, so it was really helpful getting your feedback!

    For every one who offered suggestions, we'll be talking about them today and seeing what we can do. Keep them coming, we want to hear from you!

    AWWWW cutest icon ever. OpenFeint works! The credits page is a little blurry but readable. The controls could be more sensitive.

    Hey guys,

    Just installed the latest build on my iPhone 3G and iPad. On the iPhone I had a bit of trouble getting it to run, it crashed on the Unity screen about 5 times before it launched successfully. Since then however it runs perfectly every time, and I had no issue running it on the iPad. There are still some issues such as the numbers getting clipped (on the iPhone) but I didn't notice any bugs and could play it fine.

    I'm really liking the new control method, especially on the iPad. While it's harder to switch lanes fast on the iPhone (not really an issue, it didn't cause me to lose) I couldn't imagine playing it on the iPad without the swipe method.

    There was only 1 major issue on the iPad that I came across which was the fuel meter not being completely on the screen, I could only see the right half of it. Aside from the hog rider the artwork and sprites seem to be low resolution and don't look very good on the larger screen, and the numbers could actually be bigger to fit the UI better (the numbers on the stats screen are perfect though). Oh, and when you die the sprite is much smaller than your hog was. Multitasking works fine.

    I can post screenshots if my explanations aren't clear. Aside from the small issues I'm really enjoying it so far, keep it up!

    Hello 5th World,

    I just got the 2nd beta, both versions runs well on both my ipad 4.2.1 and ipod4G 4.2.1. Personally, I prefer the tapping control to sliding. But both of them though could be more sensitive.

    I agree with StuartW on the fuel meter. Part of it you just cannot see. Some issues:

    1. It does not support auto rotation? It that made on purpose?
    2. The screen get quite blurry when the hog is running on full speed. Any way to improve that? It actually made me a little dizzy when I focus on the game. I think my score is also partially affected by the blurriness.
    3. For issue 2, I do wish the speed can be controlled. Maybe by sliding left2right and right2left? I know the speed is already being partially constrained and affected by the fuel. In that case, I wish either the speed be slower or the controlling be more sensitive. Otherwise, this game is just too hard. It made me lost interest for a 10 minute player because I cannot beat my score and I always made terrible mistakes.
    4. Maybe you could consider adding some animations to the guy on the hog when he got kissed (besides the red lips-mark). I cannot remember how many times, when he got kissed, I took a really closer look at him and tried to find out what happened and I hit sth...
    5. As the hog marches on, I think people want to get the feeling that they are doing increasingly well. Besides being rewarded by only a higher score and the achievements, maybe you can switch, in different yard ranges, for different music background. You may also consider adding some more items in the game. Just make it more fun.

    Anyway, maybe I have asked too much. The game is a blast! Please try to make it better! Thanks

    We haven't seen the iPad fuel guage change issue before, if you could email us a screen shot that would be great.

    Yes, that is on purpose. We tried out a number of different games and found that while a lot of them did support rotation, a lot of them didn't. When we tried to incorporate rotation, we had a lot of issues. For our release, we are not going to support it, but it may be something we look at doing in an update if people request it.

    Mmm. These are interesting points. We have been playing the game from the beginning, so we are used to the speed. I'm keen to hear if anyone else feels that the pacing is too fast, or if they would like to control the pacing?

    We have wanted to control the pace, so it is one less thing for the player to think about, and then we have control of difficulty levels and the slowdown effect.

    Maybe he could blush?

    Totally agree! We are working with a couple of ideas on progression and rewards for getting into the game, and we are working at getting them in. Anyone else have ideas on what they would like to see happen when they progress into the game further?

    If you do not ask, you will not receive! With your feedback we are working at making the game better.
     
  13. I hear you FPE! I like the tap control too. We are aiming to make it an option for the player to choose either tap or slide.
     
  14. Sorry Crex, we didn't get to do any of the optimization we wanted to for it to work on a 2G, so you would have had the same issue as with the first one. We are aiming for a new beta with optimization for you to test soon.

    You know what, in some sense, I love this implementation. At least i don't have to worry on constant rotations when I lie on my pillow :D

    I just wish the responding time is shorter. I wish when i accidentally switch to one lane, which is a bad decision, the device can allow me to almost instantly switch back to where I used to be. I also wish the switch speeding of the hog from one lane to another be faster. :)

    That's a good one! I love it!

    Maybe at some point, there is a teleport on one of the lanes, and once the hogrider drives into that, it teleports him into a bonus phase, which ends after a short period and teleports him back. Just a thought. :)

    I had a lot of fun during the test. I am actually becoming increasingly better at it now. My best score now is 6120. :)
     
  20. I like this idea!

    It reminds me of the original Battle Toads, if you drove your flying bike into the right object, it would teleport you to the end of the level! Made some of those hard parts easier :p

    Anyone else have some ideas on expanding the game play experience?
