No Facebook version yet, but we're not ruling that out. :]

Highborn does use your Facebook friends list for multiplayer, though.

    Facebook

I don't like Facebook. I do like the look of this game. If I purchase it, am I limited in any way because I don't have a Facebook account?

Multiplayer does require a Facebook account, to connect to others for game invites, etc. It doesn't require that you use any factual information in that Facebook account, however.

Darn, Highborn was looking great to me until I read this. I guess I'lll be playing the main campaign only... Hope the AI is really good, or you reconsider someday to at least support local multiplayer via Gamekit / Bluetooth. ;)

Yea that kinda sucks as I don't touch facebook like ever... Maybe there can be a matchmaker where it selects a random guy on facebook that has the game I suppose. It could be a decent way to build up a friends list too if you wanted to lol. (If it doesn't have it already)

But with the multiplayer quirk aside I can still safely say that I want to be the first person to buy and review this game... As long as it comes out on/before june 4th that is lol.

We went with Facebook because of the familiarity casual players would have with the system, making it as easy as signing in (since there are roughly a bajillion Facebook users out there now) to invite and play games with their friends.

It works out nicely for us more hardcore gamers, too.

Oh, this requires Facebook to play online? No thanks...

If you're leery about the Facebook integration for multiplayer, please send me your thoughts once the game is out and you've had a chance to give it a shot. We'd love to know what you think after a bit of use.

For most players, it'll be a simple way to play the game with friends without forcing everyone to sign up for yet another network account, and it acts as a nice intermediary as we wait for Apple's own Game Center to be released.

I don't see why everyone has a problem with using an existing account to manage a game rather than signing up for something else like agon or of or crystal or plus+

I think a few users on ze oda thread were worried about ze username vs. realname thang

can U do anything about tht Chris?

My problem is that I don't have Facebook, and don't want it. In my line of work, it's not advisable to be on social networking sites.

So.... You do not have internet @ home.... Thts something only CIA & NSA officials do... Yeah, how could I forget?
How much time does it take to sign up? Oh.. I forgot, its a demonid-ish account, cannot work without a invite or U gotta spend $$$s

/sarcasm, whine, rant, bitching & all of it!

C'mon deputy, Get an account for urself, it is free, works from home, if your typing is good, takes like a min to finish to sign up.

Those of us who don't, can't, or won't use facebook are not going to change our mind after it comes out.

Personally, I'm not signing up there just to use multiplayer in Highborn or any other game (whether with a real or fictitious name), and I can see based on the responses in this thread that a larger than expected part of your potential audience feels the same. ;)

If you really have no desire to implement a local multiplayer option I can only hope the single player AI is up to snuff, or simply delete it after I try it out. At least I'm still buying, it sounds like some of the other responses I have seen here and elsewhere will be "no-sales" due to facebook multiplayer...

Good luck with the release, hope you do well either way! :)

    @ driph
    Why only facebook?

    why not OF / Agon / Crystal / Plus+

I think the latter charges a lot of money

I have to concur with CD, I don't wish to use Facebook just to use multiplayer. I hope that the single player option is up to par because this looks like an excellent game and I plan on trying it out when it hits the App Store.
