Users write in ratings for Caribbean Treasures that the game is often crashing and the new update didn't fix that. I can't reproduce the crash neither on my iPod, nor in the Simulator. The game uses around 4mb of memory and has no leaks according to Xcode profiling tools. I am willing to give out a free copy of the game, but please make it crash and PM or e-mail me how you did that. Can someone help?
from your data up there you have an old 2nd gen ipod , you should test on more recent hardware. from the info given in one review it seems your game crashes after finishing a level.. check what exactly you do after a level is finished.. do you store some data, do you send some data, i see you implemented game center.. do you have proper failsafes in place for GC errors etc. well the best and of course most expensive solution is to have all avaiable idevices for testing purpose.. nothing can beat an device hooked in debug mode to your mac..
Apple has cheated me with the iPod, they sold it last year as 3G (even mark as 3G on the box), but they call it 3G only because of the version of iOS installed. The level was fixed in the update as well as many possible bottlenecks. GameCenter is used just to store scores, I didn't use it too much. And since I can't reproduce the crash, I don't know where exactly to look and what to fix. So I am looking for someone who will have constant crashes on their device. I am offering free promo codes, but just make it crash and tell me how (or when exactly it crashes)
I'll help, unless this doesn't partially solve your problems. From app store reviews only, it seems to crash right after level 54.
well if you informed yourself more before purchasing and hardware you would have found out what kind of hardware there is in the 8gb version of the 3rd gen ipods.. its not like apple withhold the information.. but thats about the "apple cheated me" part.. they did not force you to buy the device. as for your crashes, i would suggest you visit some of the beta testing related threads and maybe contact some more regular beta testers directly via pm and offer them a promo code in return for the favour of testing your app for crashes.. this part of the forums does not get that much traffic so you might have an alot bigger pool of potential testers out there in the gaming related parts of the forum. cheers.
