Often wondered that myself. BA1 felt like a PC strategy game from the 90's, nothing innovative, and certainly not pretty. At $20, I should be blown away. Now this games price point seems reasonable.
This looks almost too good! Slitherine and Hunted Cow? And throw the devil in there? Wow I'm sold! Not around today but I can't wait to pick this up once I get back.
I was never into the Battle Academy series but I am very keen on this game because I love Fantasy themes such as Paladin/Hell creatures. Is this game hard to get into or have a steep learning curve? Would love to see more impression and reviews.
Loving the game so far. I'm only on the first level, just having passed the tutorial. The difficulty is pretty good, I think I'm on hard (the middle option). I am getting a weird graphical issue. Some of my units make the normal idle movement they are all set to do, but a few other units look like they are stuttering between the two positions of animation. Hope that makes sense, I can provide video if it helps. Even with this small bug this game is awesome so far. I have been eying battle academy for a while, and I'm glad I waited for this. Fantasy is more my style and I'm excited to try multiplayer (PBEM async games are awesome for me).
I downloaded last night and played the tutorial / first level. It's not hard to get into, nor is Battle Academy for that matter. If you've played and like turn-based strategy games, then you'll enjoy this. What sets it apart, aside from the fantasy theme, is that your troops level up on the battlefield. Pretty cool addition. There is a basic tutorial that lasts about 10 minutes (a little buggy, too, me thinks), but you get the gist of how to play following the tutorial.

I've really been enjoying the skirmish generator, the only thing I would like to see added is the option to change individual army sizes, not both at equal parts. That way if I feel like a challenge with a small force and lots of enemies or if I feel like rolling over some enemies with a massive army.
The third Tutorial mission is buggy on my iPad Air II! I came two times to the point where the computer should move but he did not ... loading the autosave file had the same result. And as I deleted the file the whole game crashed. Nevertheless a great game but it seems there is some work left ...
Can you please let us know what turn of the tutorial mission this is happening in? There was an issue with the tutorial before but it should have been fixed in the 1.1 update.

I'm playing on my ipad 4 and the tutorial, especially on the last tutorial mission, it seemed to ask me to do something, which I already did, then at a later point it executes what I already did. Hard to explain, but if this was an issue then you will get it. Aside from that, awesome game! Enjoying it as it should be.
It definitely doesn't affect the gameplay, so it's pretty minor. I am playing on a 128GB iPad Air on 8.1.2.
I have the same issue. The units will twitch at random. Also the frame rate stutters quite a bit. This is on a mini 2 on the latest iOS. It's my main complaint of the game. Otherwise I'm quite happy with the gameplay.
Discovered a little bug on my mini 2.. Whenever I delete a saved game the app crashes.. Just wanted to give you the heads up ###
I "like" the game so far, but a few visual things prevent me from REALLY liking it. For example, zooming and rotating the camera are very smooth, but when you swipe to scroll the landscape it's like it's stepping by 10-20 pixels. It's jarring and kinda bugs my eyes out. I wish it were smooth scrolling like Boom Beach, Clash of Clans, Plunder Pirates, etc. I've seen where characters "glitch out" while they are just standing there. Almost like their "fidget" animation includes a frame that's out of place so as the fidget animation loops you repeatedly see it. Also, when nothing is moving, the visuals are so pretty. But as soon as any troops move to a different location on the grid it happens so fast/stuttery it almost gives a "cheap" look to it. I wish there was an option to slow it down so you could enjoy whatever animation is happening when the troops move (do they even have "move" animations?). Lastly, I wish I could zoom in much closer, to really get a nice close-up look at melee combat. I'm playing on an iPad Air, for reference. Thanks!
