My view never been good on NGMoco:], nor bad. They're just a regular games dev. EDIT: Before you start flaming me, IMO.
I've waited longer than several months for certain games Years infact. I like ngmoco so I'll just wait in line.
After playing iFPS online, i hope they spend a while getting Killtest/whatever its called right. Couldnt give a shiny shit about touch pets to be honest. However ngmoco have given me dropship for free and Star defense for 59p recently, whihc represents ridiculous value for money. So im waiting on dlc for star defense, and hoping that i can finsh the last few levels of rolando and get rolando 2
my veiw has changed a little bit i just wish they would release it that FPS game already!!! i think it is possible for a game to be TOO polished...
Camzy's Quote: I can't believe how many people have jumped on the Gameloft bandwagon. They've released many decent titles, but in my opinion, ngmoco are really the model devs for the iPhone. They come out with good updates, make innovative games, and have a killer Plus+ network. Gameloft rarely update, they drop their prices too fast which makes a lot of early birds curse when the price goes to something unreasonably low. Hero of Sparta would have been perfectly fine at $5.99... Actually, ngmoco has dropped the prices on several games. Dropship obviously went to FREE, which is fine for those who waited, but not for the "early birds." As well as Star Defense which dropped to 99cents very quickly, screwing the early biters as well. So its not just Gameloft doing these kinds of things, everyone is, even ngmoco, the "Model for Game Developers."
EA is my favorite though the Next Generation Mobile Company isn't bad either. I can't stand Gameloft though. All their games are repetitive and short, with graphics nice enough to make the consumer feel good about their purchase anyway.
Thank you all who suggestd me a few apps to take care of my racing urge.... I like arcade racers..... So, nfsu is still highly priced IMHO, I do not know how long the game is, how many tracks & I am not willing to cough up $5 without testing the controls, waiting for a lite & anothr price drop on it.
First, I think Ngmoco is a pretty solid company that has produced very solid games. I really liked Rolando 1 & 2 for the innovation ( I know they had some inspiration from Loco Roco..) and for producing a game that builds on the strength's of the iDevice. Even though the Rolando games have not gotten a ton of playtime lately, I still think they are great games that set the standard in quality. That said, I do understand why the OP started this thread. When I watched the Apple presentation in April and saw Livefire it was like the holy grail of iphone games. Almost anybody and everybody with an idevice and an interest in gaming probably felt similar. It has been four months and people are still waiting. I agree with most of the people on here and would MUCH rather have a polished, finished game on release opposed to having in finished via update. I do see where the OP is coming from, but let's keep in mind that this practice is not limited to ngmoco. There are many games/dev's that have fallen behind schedule, but they are not often in the limelight to the extent as this. It hasn't changed my opinion of them as a company at all. I just wish I didn't know about Livefire/Killtest or could forget about it or something If anything changed the way I felt about them, it was Star Defense. For me that game was a huge letdown. Tried to get into it but never found it to be very fun... I'd rather play Fieldrunners and there are lots of TD better than FR's..
I love there games and i can not wait for touch pets and too see there other games this year. I like gameloft too but ngmoco is my favorite. I wish they would give more information on release dates.

What a ridiculous thread. I`d rather wait another couple of months for a polished game instead of getting the buggy feature less version today. In fact I`d like to delay their games even more. Still have more a dozen games I have to try even once. Need more time to finish them first
Ngmoco is just plain awesome. They're good in terms of delivering, but one thing that bothers me is ads. They have ads in all their games, even the paid ones including Word Fu and Star Defense. I mean really? Get rid of the ads, they're really obtrusive.
I always loved ngmoco but they announce games too far in advance IMO For example, Gameloft announced NFL 2010 and it was released just days later. ngmoco does produce very high quality games and im so excited for touchpets and FPS so in simpler term, no the wait doesnt change my opinion. They are still great
The fact the games were delayed hasn't made my opinion go down. Their lack of communication regarding the games has made my opinion drop a bit, but they still produce some great games, so I'm not worried.
Why do they need to provide any more information than they already are. They're actively developing Touch Pets, Kill Test, and several other yet to be revealed games. They'll be released when they're finished. I'm really kind of amazed anyone is voting "Yes" for this poll. For you people who have voted this way, if they released Touch Pets or Kill Test and they were both buggy and unfinished, would you be raging against the ngmoco machine posting about how you got "burnt" or would you be like "Wow, I'm glad I got this early even though it's barely playable at least I have the icon to look at!?" This seems like kind of a damned if you do, damned if you don't kind of situation where whiners will whine regardless of what ngmoco does.
I'm just bored of seeing advertisements for games I own. So... yes, they are very slightly less cool than they used to be, but I don't hate them at all.
