I am just curious about how much they would have had to remove from the game to get it through the approval process. Or do you think Apple would make a special exception for a company like Rockstar.
I doubt that they would make an exception for this. If there is any content that goes over and above Apples highest age rating they will probably be asking that it be removed. They won't want a precedent set that other developers might follow.
If rockstar wanted to release this before christmas, we would atleast see some kinda promo event from them. This game is not gonna hit the app store any time soon.
I'm still hoping for a December release too. And again, if there is a December release, December 22 is most likely since that'll be the Tuesday on the third week of the month which is when both the DS versions and the PSP version happened in March and October respectively. Maybe Rockstar has been holding off on making a firm release date until the game is actually approved by Apple? Apple and Rockstar can then hold the game until the actual release date. Given the ups and downs of the review process, this seems like the safest plan to avoid missed deadlines. Although they are cutting it really close if they are hoping to make their original 2009 commitment.
I think we will not see this game this year. Rockstar can make a loth of money from the holiday sales of there psp en ds versions.
I seriously wish they would they would just give us a little snippet of info so we know what's going on.
Rockstar has just released Beaterator from the app store, so I hope this is a sign that CW will be coming out soon before Christmas.
It's common for others to be worried about the same thing. It's not like you trademarked that specific comment Tim Langdell But anyways I think squarezero said that Rockstar said it would be the same as the PSP, but with downgraded graphics and I remember reading that as well.
yes beaterator is a sign ,definitely a good sign now i have hope of GTA being released this month and it should not be watered down because they said that it will be almost the same as the PSP version but other textures has just lower resolution
http://www.pocketgamer.co.uk/r/iPhone/Beaterator+%28iPhone%29/news.asp?c=17170 Reports are that Studio mode is not included. Only Loops and Song mode. Hopefully Chinatown Wars won't be watered down as well. I'm not concerned about equivalent pricing to the DS and PSP versions for the full game or a part of the game (missions or area) at part of the price with the rest available as DLC adding up to the same total in content and price. But, I'd be hesitant to support a Chinatown Wars that only tells part of the story or offers only part of the map, with no possibility of the rest being available on the iPhone through updates or DLC.
