That makes sense -- don't own a DS, so the two screen setup isn't in the top of my mind. I was thinking about the whole Assassins's Creed-being-a-DS-port flap.
Maybe Apple will be announcing a Premium App Store in their next event(Sept. 9), because 9.99 for this doesn't seem like enough. That said, I'd be happy to pay 10 bucks for this, but I can see TakeTwo/Rockstar wanting more for this.
20 bucks seems like a good price, seeing as they don't have to pay for things like manufacturing, packaging, etc. with the iPhone.
Gangstart sucked graphics are great. you drive through trees and poles. WACK Technically outside of graphics its subpar driving controls are ok. COPS DONT EVEN CHASE YOU. WHAT A JOKE. PLAY CHINATOWN WARS THE COPS ARE INTENSE MAN. THIS WILL BE THE BEST GAME TO EVER GRACE IPHONE. I WOULD PAY THE SAME PRICE THEY CHARGE ON PSP AND DS. WHY WOULD I EXPECT LESS FOR THE SAME GAME WITH BETTER GRAPHICS. GROW UP, ITS WORTH 35.
I agree with all those^^^ Unless a clone of a clone means go full circle and come back to the original again which is what we are getting. Anyway my mouth is still hanging open after seeing this on the homepage. I would pay big money for this. Im so glad some other companies besides EA are getting into the app store. Such as Civ Rev aswell.
Having never played GTA:CW, i'm not the best person to judge, but as others have mentioned, there's room for both games. As much as CW for the iDevice will be awesome (and i'm sure it will be), Gangstar was the first, and is still the only game of its kind in the App Store. So as much as some people may have their gripes about Gangstar, and CW might completely pwn it, we still gotta show it some respect.
Since when should people show a 6/10 game respect? I'll give em a thanks for whetting my appetite, but I won't remember Gangstar as the best on iPhone
I have alsow not played GTA:CW! First there was Payback, then there was Car Jack Streets and then the newest GTA like game is Gang$tar, so it isn't the first!
I'm really curious to see if this is going to be the first game priced at over $10 or not. I played through most of the DS game and the game world is massive, and there are very few if any sacrifices made in the game. All in all, Chinatown Wars is probably the most technically impressive game I've played for the DS. If there's anyone that can demand a $10+ price point, it's Rockstar with an official GTA game... Especially if it's a great port.
I'm not saying anyone has to, but i think people should respect the fact that it's the only real, decent GTA clone out right now. Even if you didn't like it, you gotta admit it was a pretty good attempt.
