the game on ds and psp is over 20 china town is the higest rated ds game so on the iphone..... it'll be 19.99 atleast
Quite a few of Gameloft's games were originally for DS (Brothers in Arms, Assassin's Creed), each priced at over $20 on that platform, and each debuted on this platform for no more than $9.99. EA's Madden is as big a franchise as any, and it debuted at $9.99 on this platform. I honestly don't think Rockstar will try $19.99. If they go for a traditional model, $9.99 - $14.99 seems most likely. If they go for the DLC model, it could be anywhere free for the first mission with paid in app DLC for the rest of the game (itself priced anywhere from $9.99 to 14.99) or, if they do go $20 it'll be in a roundabout way like, say, $9.99 for half the game, and then the last half available as in app DLC for $9.99. I think they'll go for one of the two latter routes (free with in app DLC for the full game, $10 for half with the other half as in app DLC for $10 also) because Apple is pushing in app DLC as an anti-piracy measure.
but this is the best game on the ds we're talking just checked on PSP TOO! http://www.gamerankings.com/browse.html?site=ds&cat=0&year=0&numrev=4&sort=0&letter=&search= http://www.gamerankings.com/browse.html?site=psp&cat=0&year=0&numrev=4&sort=0&letter=&search=
Around 10 bucks? Not becouse the game is worth it or becouse of developmentcosts but becouse they know many gamers are going to buy it regardless. I think you overanalyze this a bit. Rockstar know that this is a popular title and if it gets released they know its gonna sell good. They might as well get paid for it. Another thing that is a bit harder to understand for some is the fact that higher prices tend to raise attractiveness for products. Its kind of unlogic in a way but its never the less a fact that people reason in terms of - cheap=crap, expensive=it must be good. Study a little marketingstrategy and you'll understand what i mean.
Well if there's anyone can can command an high price point it would be Rockstar with a real GTA game, especially if the rumors are true and it's identical to the PSP version as far as graphics and content are concerned. But... who knows! Also a thing to remember is that Rockstar historically has played by its own set of rules with most of their games. It wouldn't surprise me to see them release a game with content that previously would have been rejected at a price point that's reasonable for what's included in the game. The company seems to thrive on controversy. Now time for a cup of hot coffee...
I think Rockstar is going to wait a few months to drop the prices of the other 2 versions to $19.99 and after that release the iPhone port for $9.99.
The PSP version of CW is $40, even on PSN. They won't release essentially the same game for $30 less - it'd be a complete insult to anyone who bought it on PSP. They will try their best to match the price to the PSP i think. I like Spiffy's DLC idea, but I doubt Rockstar would launch the game for free. My guess would be 1/4 of the missions for $10, inc all the extra stuff and full map. Then DLC to buy the rest of the missions in $10 packs. That way the total price is the same, but it appears to conform to app store pricing standards and is more approachable to users.
This isn't much of a question. Your first two options are unrealistic and your last two options are generally unseen in the App Store. I'd say $9.99 is very likely. And also, you could say games like Madden offer the same content level as you would see on say a DS, yet the iPhone version doesn't sell for $30, or anything near that.
I really hope it gets rejected. Not because I don't want the game, but it will bring a ton of bad press to the approval process and might influence Apple to fix it up
You have to take in the consideration that its also a psp game with same amount of content even though supposedly it is going to have a lower resolution on Itouch. But I agree that normally you don't see anything above $10 though we really have never had psp quality game (though Ravensword looks like a psp quality game and Lumines was half-assed made if you ask me). I do think people will fork out the extra money since it's an actual GTA game. But how much extra is the question. Btw I mostly put the lower two options in to see how many cheapo's we have in TA.
I'm surprised no one quoted this... I got it . I think this game will go past the $10 mark, maybe $14.99. I'd still buy it.
told ya,this will be hard for us and for Rockstar but i really hope this will still be released anyway,i hope more info about the game will be released before this thread reach 6000 posts....
I'd be willing to pay over ten bucks for this, not more though because i already own it. Not sure how many people who are voting a low price have actually played though, for this game on the Appstore, yeah, they could go over 10 bucks easily.
