No! I know brake assist uses and I always turn it off. The thing is, u don't really need brakes to play rr. U just drift on every turn and win. In shift u can't survive without brakes.

Real Racing is much more like RaceDriver GRiD in terms of grip but you certenly need to use your brakes in the faster cars and on the later race tracks in the game.

We how ever should be talking about GT Racing here, I just hope it looks that nice on a non 3Gs / 3g touch, they nailed the lighting for an iphone game that's for sure.

Hand-on preview from Kotaku. Kind of snarky, but interesting nonetheless.

They say $9.99, did we know the price before now?

A great price imo, 108 real cars must cost a fair bit to license.

The more information I'm reading about this game, the more it makes me want it. Originally, when it was first announced, I wasn't too fond of it. However, now I really want it. And it's comming out really, really soon.

May I borrow some of your positive "feelings"?:)

Anyways,RR just didn't do it for me and this is kind of sounding like it.

Sure :). Anyway, my point is that I find racing games on the iPhone more immersive than racing games on other platforms, precisely because the accelerometer controls remove a layer of abstraction -- I'm not pressing a key or pushing a knob to turn the wheel, I'm actually turning it. Not saying that everyone should feel that way, of course.

My guess is that you're right: someone who doesn't dig RR should probably stay away from this as well.

As a car fanatic my gripe about RR is the lack of 'real cars'. If this handles as well as RR it will be a car fanatic's wet dream, I love the feeling of 'overtaking' a Ferrari.

Same here. Feels so much more natural and beautiful:):)When racing games first appeared on the app store accelerometer controls were so frustrating to use.Things have come a long way since then!!:D:D

    Australia, mate!
Racing games were made for the iPhone. It's like salt and pepper, fish and chips, etc.

no way. Gt racing graphics are too cartoon-y. I hate it when they took real low res pics and turn them into graphics. (look at the tail lights of the ferrari enzo) it looks so crappy. Gran turismo graphics are miles ahead.

Yeah, i think the graphics and textures of all Gameloft games are very cartoony. From asphalt to nova. Just compare Assassin's Creed 1 and 2. although AC2 graphics is not that realistic, AC1 looks disney-ish. Just my opinion though. Anyway, hoping for depth in this game
