That's probably beacuse it's a rally game. Unless it's Rally Cross races are generally against the clock.
Hi, thanks for this info, it's the first time I'm playing (and trying to like) a game like this; judging by the screenshots, where can be seen multiple cars on a track, I thought otherwise. I guess these types of games aren't for me after all Edit: there is asynchronous multiplayer for tracks created by other players; I have a lot more fun playing those than racing (only) against time
You have several control options. Not sure about MFI controllers. The best option seems to be the default. Also remember that braking at the right time is very important. The controls work well IMHO.
I'd second that - not tried Mifi yet. I'm having a lot of fun with it the only thing I'm missing is a reset to track button. I've got stuck in the woods on more than one occasion...
Yeah I got that, I just want to move the car back onto the track and take a penalty rather than restarting
Pressing the return symbol will set you back on track at the last checkpoint. This is a really awesome top down racer. The main campaign consists of 104 stages,i wouldn't really call that short. It's quite challenging,so getting gold on every stage is gonna take me a while. The track editor is really fun,as is driving on other user made tracks. Highly recommended if you like top down racers and rally. For me this is one of the highlights of the year, hope someone at TA does a review. It deserves some attention.
QUESTION. As a huge fan of drift-y games like Reckless Racing, I tend to ignore the brakes 90% of the time in this game and just try to slide around every corner. It's a lot more fun to me, but is that a "bad" way to play? Would my times be significantly better if I took care to brake before turns, or is drifting fine as long as I can control it well enough to stay on the track and keep a decent racing line?
Yeah, I'm further into the game and I definitely can't get away with only drifting now. Also, hot f*** this game is hard. Racing is probably my favorite genre and I consider myself decent at most racers, but Jesus is Go Rally punishing. I'm at the end of the AMATEUR league and literally one tiny mistake costs you the whole race, and thus the whole rally. I love a good challenge and this game is absolutely fantastic, but I wouldn't be mad if they loosened up some of the competitor's times a bit. Actually, one thing that would be really helpful is including the ghosts in the career mode. I'm like Seabuscuit - I need to look my competitors in the eye and then I can pull ahead.
Yeah I am at the same point and struggling... Last rally of the series is punishing to the point I'm not really enjoying it, jus trying to get it done to move on to the next league.. Although if Ametuer is this hard I may not make it any further
Hi folks, if you're finding Go Rally tough, here are some tips that may help! - for gold times you need 3 things: to be really comfortable with the controls and car handling, you must know the track well and make no big mistakes (scratching a barrier is ok, hitting a tree is not) - try to focus on the road ahead and don't look at the car too much - remember, you can adjust the steering sensitivity! Try adjusting to Medium it to see if that gives you more control once you're used to the game. - experiment with the control styles - I like the auto-throttle because I don't have to move my finger from brake to gas pedal, but you might find something that suits you better - aside from slowing down, brake helps to get the car into drift, so use it before turning, especially when the turn follows a long straight Bear in mind that championships are harder than early rallies in seasons following. It's ok to get that 4th place, move on and return later with a better car or more experience. Thanks everyone for their feedback! Vlada / Inputwish
Hey Oupa! Great to see you here. Thanks for this awesome game. I agree that the championships are hard as nails,i managed to make it to the expert season though. I'm having an equal great time with the user made tracks and creating my own . Thanks for featuring some of mine,Sticks &Stones is even track of the day! (I'm Blindlemonjello..). While you're tips are helpful not entering and exiting a corner perfect can cost many seconds. I'm still not sure which controls work best for me,i'm currently trying to get around with the old school controls. Getting the car into drift into a corner is a lot harder than with auto throttle though. I personally would like to see the car keeping a bit more speed when letting go of the throttle and making it easier to get it into drift when breaking after that. Maybe i just need to practice more. For the tracks we can publish it would be great if we could set the weather conditions and allowed car classes. Thanks again,i'm back to racing and i need to finish Amateur Sweden Cup Stage 2. Someone found an unintentianal short cut in stage 1...#,won't happen again!
That's so cool to see a skilled track-builder here! You have a valid point, we had thought about this but the prevailing idea was that it's better to open the tracks for everyone. But we'll continue to watch how the tracks are made and played and some changes might come in future. Don't worry about the short cut, it happens even to the best of us
Haha, thanks! I did put some time and effort in my tracks. The tools provided are awesome. It does take a lot of time, testing, adjusting, repeat. Placing obstacles in a fair but challenging position. It's very satisfying! Good point about opening the tracks to everyone,i already had all the cars when i started building tracks.
Love the game but most of all love the editor. I love anything with user content creation. Longevity fiesta! However; whenever I use the freehand track drawing, it automatically adds foliage. Is there a function that I am missing, allowing you to toggle this off? If not, could that be something considered for an update? Edit: Also; when placing objects your finger needs to be offset whilst you move it into position, rather than directly over the top of it so that you can't see what you're doing. There's a term for it; many other apps do it but said term escapes me.
I absolutely love this game. Hoping that I beat it within the next month or so in case the publisher turns this fantastic racer into a freemium grab.
