GLWG2 :Move to the air! We want Great Little Air War (GLAW)! Progression through air war technology ... make technology advances part of the game ... biplanes to monoplanes to jets to hypersonic ... fighters, bombers, choppers ... all of it!
Heh, that might be a little too deviant from the original game for a sequel. But it'd be a nice next project.
The iPhone version seems to work pretty good, but you did a sloppy port for Android. It would be nice support to your customers since you have made a ton of money from us instead of leaving the bugs to work on a sequel. On the Android version the "All Out War" pack doesn't unlock after completing the first 20 missions as promised, so I'm only getting 60% of the game I paid for. It would be a good game otherwise. I know you think your clever with your force to rate feature. What you don't understand is people would rate you just as much if you simply put "if you enjoy this game please rate us" and would get rid of the majority of your 1-star ratings. Something to think about in your sequel. The thing I would really like to see in a sequel is some long-range vehicles or troops. The jeeps and cargo planes really don't go very far. Perhaps even some long-range missles. Anyway please release a bug fix to unlock the "all out war" missions on your Android release. Thanks.
WTF? All Out War: The All Out War pack is never free. On iOS it's a paid expansion. On Android it's not even in the package because Android can't seem to enforce a reasonable download limit size on the carriers. This pack got a mention somewhere but that was fixed a very long time ago. This pack was never mentioned in the game description on Android Market. So you didn't pay for it. Ratings: Sorry, but you are wrong. We have other games and nowhere near the same level of ratings to installs. When we see the very occasional one star review because we asked for a rating in return for a bonus unit, we do worry if the writer is about to have a nervous breakdown tbh. We'd feel really bad if one of these guys actually has a heart attack at this outrage so please chill out a bit for my sake if not yours. So to wrap up, can you actually point to a single bug we've ignored in this sloppy port?
As you can see from the screenshot from an Android device, you do say if you complete all 20 missions that it unlocks the all out war pack. So is this a: 1) Broken Promise ? 2) A Bug ? 3) or a Sloppy Port ? 4) All of the above ? I just asked a simple question about some missing levels. I don't see why you got your panties all in a bunch. I don't want to call you a typical arrogant developer, because their are a lot of great developers out there who care about their customers. I didn't rate you 1-star because of the force to rate feature. But hey nice of you to try insulting your paying customers. Nobody is having a heart attack except you. Collectively all the 1-star ratings add up to thousands of dollars people paid you for a full game, but they don't get it unless they rate you. Instead of understanding why someone might be upset over that you call them cry babies. Walmart became one of the largest companies in world history by focusing on customer service, something you totally don't understand. The Android market rates popularity by the number of downloads, not the number of feedbacks. I would think having a little less feedback but mostly good, instead of hundreds of 1-star ratings with more feedback would be superior in driving sales. Please take the $3 I spent on the game and buy yourself a drink, because it seems like your on the verge of a nervous breakdown. Anyway, as you can see from the screenshot you were completely wrong, so your "WTF" comment only makes you appear foolish.
Firstly it's not a "sloppy port". How would not including a paid expansion make it a sloppy port??? It's most likely a bug, instead of displaying "Call of Booty" it shows up as "All out War". And these devs ARE some of the great devs that focus on great customer service. And there arent "hundreds of 1star ratings". There's less than 200, while there's almost 12 THOUSAND five star reviews. And the "WTF" comment doesn't make him foolish, it means that you sure as hell are wrong about the "sloppy port" or "broken promise". It means it's probably a bug he'd never heard of before...
You seemed to have missed off the tradtional 5) none of the above. Can't think why. For my answer, I'll go with what I already wrote. It was an error in the text once we realised we couldn't fit it all in and we fixed this ages ago. Let me just restate this as I think you were busy making shit up to argue about instead of reading what I actually put: No you didn't. You pointed to one inconsistency and claimed it was a sloppy port and that we were disregarding our customers. I defended myself and put you straight so now you call me arrogant. I recognise a troll when I see one so please take this bile elsewhere. Oh I dunno really. I'd be interested to see how you fit your logic against this independent result: http://techcrunch.com/2011/12/29/mobilewalla-the-highest-rated-mobile-apps-of-2011/ I'm fine thanks. I just don't like people signing up fresh to a forum to slag my game off with innacurate rantings. Are you a competitor or something? Your next post, and I'm sure there'll be one, will go unanswered so please take that opportunity to have the last word.
Thanks, and yes. We do plan a Beta once the networking stuff is allegedly complete, but this won't be for a while yet. I'll make a big announcement/request for testers hopefully by the end of January. I'll be sure to add you to the top of the list as we're rapidly running out of udid slots. (Even though GLWG isn't in your favourite games sig )
Oh sweet thanks. Lol Im pretty damn sure it was, think I was editing it and accidently took it out. (Excuses, excuses lol) Cant wait!
recruitable teamates. each person that's part of the team has special stats that can be upgraded. ranks(recruit, sergeant, general) each one gives the character a new more powerful weapon or upgrade(grenades, grenade launcher, increased movement)
Thanks. We sort of have that with our new buffing system. Not quite as you described but captures the essence.
I point out a bug and he says I'm going to have a nervous breakdown. That's what you consider great customer service? He also said "can you actually point to a single bug "... so we must be wrong, since the game supposedly is bug free. The game has other bugs I didn't mention. On one level I get some black polygons as an example. If the game doesn't contain the missions, then that's fine. I asked nicely about it, but his response was rude. I do think the port from Advance Wars to GLWG on the iOS was cleaner than iOS to Android though. Yeah I know, I'm way off base. He didn't totally steal their game and convert it for smartphone use. It would also be nice if he cared as much about his Android users as iPhone users, since we don't get access to expansion maps or voice packs. Maybe we will be more lucky on the next DS game he converts to a new format. PS. No I'm not a competitor. I was a fan of the game, and just curious about the levels mentioned that did not seem to unlock. I have my version of the game updated to the last release, and that text error is still in place. I'm not a troll, just wondering if I could play the All Out War levels or not. I also made some suggestions, but it appears the developer can't handle constructive criticism.
I know I said I wouldn't continue this, and I'm ignoring the rest of your diatribe. However this one needs explaining lest anyone else be tainted by your self rightitude. The reason that the packs aren't there is because not a single carrier seems to stick to the 50Mb limit that Android dictate, so they simply don't fit in the download. We reduced the APK as much as we could for the benefit of our affected customers, and for that I can't apologise enough. The lack of these paid expansions is actually losing us money, and I'd love to see how you square that away with us not caring about our customers. Please. So, do you have any actual requests for features in the iOS version? This being an iOS forum and all...
@TheMaster First this is an iOS site, NOT an android one. The way you came across in your first post was arrogant, as if the dev owed you, and saying things like "sloppy port" and stuff like that. And if you look in the android desription, nothing is said about the "All out war" campaign, so you shouldn't have expected it given to you. Thirdly, in your second post you outright insult the developer, and most of the "facts" you gave I easily prove they weren't true. And yes, the devs like constructive criticism WHEN THE PERSON ISN'T SHOVING IT DOWN THEIR THROAT. Just a way to expect when you treat people in this world: be polite, they'll be polite; be neutral, they'll be polite but not as much, be rude and they'll get angry. Don't be rude to the devs. They made a great game (insert "little war" in there if you want ), and you pretty much came across very rudely. Politeness and courtesy is something valued very highly, and something you need to learn. The problem wasn't that you reported a bug, it was how you did it (especially your second post). If you want something done, being rude will NOT help you get it...
