Anyone try Garage Band for iPad yet? Extremely tempted to buy it, but I'll need some impressions first.
Oh I'm not sure. It shows up in the AppStore on my iPad. Oddly enough it's the number one paid app right now, and its been out less than a day I think. Edit: it says compatible with iPad
Yeah that makes sense, since the iPad doesn't have a camera. I'm not a musician or anything but I still wanna buy it I probably will in a little bit unless someone else posts very negative impressions. Most of Apples apps are high quality though. I was expecting it to be 9.99, so 4.99 is looking pretty attractive right now.
Actually iMovie is compatible with the iPhone 4, iPod touch gen4? and the iPad 1 and 2. iMovie also works fairly well on the iPhone too, I've made a few fun videos with it. And Garage band is iPad only, and pretty sure it doesnt matter which generation.
Garageband is out!!! http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/garageband/id408709785?mt=8 Apple released Garageband and iMovie a day early. iMovie will not work on the iPad 1 (unless it is jailbroken, according to comments on Engadget). GARAGEBAND! w00t!
MOAR EXCLAMATION POINTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Engadget calls GarageBand a "groundbreaking piece of software for tablets".
I have to agree with what everyone else is saying. It's so full featured, very easy to use. All those other music synth/sound editing apps out there might as well be those barnyard animal sound spinning toys compared to GarageBand. I know very little about music, but it's way worth the 4.99 just to mess around with all the different instruments. If you have an iPad, get it.
Lol please. All depends on what you´re trying to accomplish. Lots of different music apps and softsynths for ios that does things alot better then any garageband. What Garaband need is Audio copy/paste....
Paradiso: Yep GB for iPad is really great, lots of stuff mising still tho (like editing the sequences in a pianoroll, audio copy/paste etc). But i was just reactin to what u said about all other iOS music apps are toys wich is definatly not tru. IE I just bought SynthX today, would like see GarageBand do what that softsynth can do. Anyway i hope Apple implements audio copy/paste so i can paste stuff from other softsynths into it.
Yeah I was poking fun at the other ones. I know there are some good ones out there, but assuming Apple gives us a few updates, GarageBand is up there with the best of em.
ok im getting an ipad soon and i want an app where i can record the sound of the instruments im playing an then be able to edit them together, can garage band do that? if not does anybody know an app that can do that?
I got it on my iPad 1. I'm not a musician, but it's great! You can make songs, use synths, keyboards, pianos, guitars, drums, smart drums, smart bass etc. There's metronome if you want, you can make the song go for as long as you want. You can also add your songs to iTunes! I recommend it.
