Are you trying to tell us that there shouldn't be a Gang$tar thread here because there's one on a completely different site? If so, why so? Please explain. Our thread here is much better. Their thread goes off topic a little and doesn't give out close to the same info as we've brought here.
It's true too. All their site has is the original video and the next 10 pages were all about people complaining why the game was on iPhone and not cell phones and "it cant be on cell phone, cause the file is probably over 200mb LOL" over and over again. It's not a good thread. Not even half as good as this one. I can't believe that such an iPhone game only has a few users hyping it and even some guy who suggested that this thread shouldn't exist.
Really? People still like Minigore, don't they? I know RE4 and Doom weren't as good as the original versions, but they were still good for mobile games. But I know that there were a number of games that got more hype than they deserved. I see what you mean and I understand.
This game should've stolen all of Minigore's Hype for that week before Minigore was released. Don't people like GTA? And now for the iPhone, and this is an iPhone games forum!
Wait, where's the Gameloft forum? Lol.. But yeah I think this is the third game that will live up to its hype. 1. Need For Speed 2. The Sims 3 3. Gangstar (hopefully) Gangstar, based on the videos and other information, looks as if it really is a GTA 3 clone. And there are several cars and highways and stuff. The missions look good. The graphics aren't the best, but they look like PS1-PS2 graphics. I really am excited for this. I think this will be the first iPhone only incredible game that will live up to its hype. It will seriously rip everything else. I cannot wait. (i would add thousands of more paragraphs on how this game will be THE GAME but I have to go! ) lol off topic: i know some people hate sims and nfsu for iPhone/iPod Touch, but in my opinion, the graphics are intense, and the gameplay is incredible! The games are soo fun! Although in the Sims 3, I would like it if you could control more then 1 sim at a time, have more customization options for your house/person, and have babies. Lol..
One salient difference b/t this and the Minigore thread is that the developer was actively involved in the Minigore thread dropping eye candy.
Haha, lots of the forum members who have commented in theGang$tar: West Coast Hustle thread are like 'What, this is for the iPhone? The iPhone can run games?' And then you get the whining little sons of b*tches who are like 'Hey, this isn't fair, why are Gameloft making this game for the iPhone and not making the game for our mobile phones?' Well, I'll tell you why. Because your crappy little mobile phones are incapable of running 3D games like this. It is 2009, not 1999. Upgrade. Give up your little camera phone and buy an iPhone if you really want to play games like this so bad. I don't understand why people even play those crappy 2D games on the 'mobile/cell phone' platform. How can you play a game with tiny little buttons, a 1 inch screen with only a couple of pixels and graphics so bad that they make enviro bear look like gran turismo. I know, right? It's going to be great. The graphics actually remind me of The Simpsons Hit n Run game for the Gamecube, only with guns. Since it's going to be awesome, and has not much hype to live up to, most likely so. Not many companies are too much into iGaming because of the low price tags (Although a few companies have), but Gameloft/Ubisoft have been delving pretty far into it. Who knows? Maybe they'll one day port Splinter Cell and the upcoming PSP Assassin's Creed.
Yeah, where is all the hype? If I remember correctly, car jack streets got $hit loads of hype, and that was a 2D GTA rip-off. This game has an extra dimension, so that should equate to 1/3 more hype, lol. Seriously though, this is like GTA 3 on the iPhone. If anyone remembers, GTA 3 was revolutionary when it first came out, so where is the hype?
You know, you're right. All this time we've waited and debated over a 3D GTA game on the iPhone and now that it's finally here we've hardly been talking about it.
A lot (LOT) of people are still complaining because Rockstar didn't do it, and some say they are waiting for Rockstar to make one for the iPhone. Honestly, that will most likely lead to a disappointment. It will most likely be a 2D China Town Wars port with odd controls and handling.
well... Gang$tar will certailny entertain people that crave some GTA action on iPhone. I myself am a big GTA fan for ages now and I remember when I used to play some other similar games (GTA Clones) while waiting for the new GTA game.. what I've learned from that is that if you want GTA, you wait for GTA game and that's it. All the clones out there are trying to be the GTA but they are not (either it's the gameplay, jokes, story, weapons, driving etc..). I will however buy Gang$tar for iPhone because it's the only game of that kind for the system - and will give it a good try. But it won't satisfy me as the real thing would. If Rockstar decides to release some sort of GTA game for iPhone, I doubt it will be something of a top down view like chinatown wars, I reckon it will be something more of a PSP games looking port, with less missions etc. Compressed for iPhone.
