It's usually a trend of recently released games and .99 - 2.99 games that go free, seems like. Another trend is older games that a dev wants to draw attention to so it will climb the charts. It is a bummer. FAAD is hit or miss and will have a good game every once in a while. Openfeint usually has not so well known titles as the freebies.
Sh wasn't giving away entire boxes, and limited how much you ate, sounds like Lite to me. Still funny. I don't let it bother me. Apps are cheap compared to other forms of entertainment/hr
Yeah, I have trouble understanding how people here complain about $1-3 apps when they spend 3-50x that much on video games, movies, eating out, or other things all the time. If you are wealthy enough to own an ipod, a few bucks for some apps should not be a problem.
I think the people who complain the loudest are those who got iPods for gifts and need to manage an allowance of iTunes gift cards. I can't really see how any reasonable adult could get this worked up over a 99¢*purchase.
To echo an earlier sentiment, don't feel too bad if you've coughed up a buck or two and then "got screwed" a week or two later. It makes all the difference in the world to small developers when you actually pay for our games A lot of us price them so low in hopes that we will actually be able to move some units, but still maintain some sense of value. As for going free, it's a great promotional tool, but certainly a double-ended sword in many cases. I don't regret having gone free temporarily, and I feel like the feedback we still get (months later) is "the app is definitely worth more than its asking price"
we can complain about how apps have gone on sales after your purchase of it... but nobody ever says anything about when we purchase apps during sales and then they go up in price! I bought plenty of games that have gone free or on sale after my purchase of it, but I have saved far more money on discounted games during sales.
Yea well, I might have bought some games that went free shortly after but I've also been the recipient of picking up free games just after a price drop.
that's definitely true. i've never bought a full priced gameloft or ea game. and i have 21 of them combined from all the 99 cent sales. considering that they were on average 4.99 or more before, i've saved close to 100 bucks.
Fastar! Uniwar Then again, I got these for $1, so, really, it isn't bad at all, considering all the apps I got on sale or free.
