There was a bad zombie game that was removed... I have it on my computer. Forgot name but you had a character in 3D and zombies were very fast and when they hit you, you couldn't reload, there was no run button etc
Yeah, surprisingly enough the controls do work quite well. Basically the space to the lower left controls the aiming cursor, and the space to the lower right fires the gun. You drag your thumb around on the lower left to move the cursor. They actually came up with a way for the game not to be totally boring as when you're playing the original mode the cursor doesn't appear until the "wild gunman" says "Fire", and the placement of the cursor is random each time (so as you can't just leave the cursor in the middle of the screen and tap fire everytime the gunman draws). Also, all 3 modes from the original NES game are included (probably because it's just a rom hack), so you can fight just one gunman, 2 gunmen, or play the Hogan's Alley-esque "Gang" variation. The only thing I really don't like about it is that while it saves your high score locally, it doesn't differentiate between what mode you were playing at the time. For example, if you were playing the original mode and got a score of 20000, then switched to gang mode and got 25000, the "High Score" would be saved at 25000. Everything seems to gel nicely with 4.0 as well, so if you're interested, get it while you can.
Friday Night Fights Friday night used to be alright for fighting... until PUNK JUSTICE was pulled from the App Store.
Anyone mentioned Stoneloops of Jurasica, yet? http://toucharcade.com/2009/10/24/stoneloops-of-jurassica-removed-from-app-store/ I still has the game and I love it (it works with iOS4 flawlessly). This case was a big let down from the Apple :/ f.
Guan (my favorite 2 player strategy card game) which is very similar to Tichu. Touch Ghosts (best night lights out game as had nice variety but not too sad as there are alternatives but still not quite as good though) SuperNova Blast was my favorite chain reaction game and still looking for a replacement and yet to find one. Luckily I still have all my copies of the above and still play them. edit: Reason these are pulled I can only fathom they are not even making the $99 developer fee so it makes no sense for the developer to keep paying Apple when they can't even make back their fee. Sadly we'll see more and more of this and even more that say ok they'll still pay but say screw updating it to iOS4 or whatever for instance. There is just no motivation.
whoa, so they have to pay apple even if they do not sell? we will lose a lot.. since not all of them sell well. but heck iv found some real gems.. that probably only sold 20 copies. i figure they would just not update to latest OS. is what i figured would happen but did not even think they would just pull them all together.. i guess all the games will end up on the torrents if they can not be purchased anymore. shrugs. chris.
I was recommending some Match 3 type games and noted that Jewel Quest Deluxe, Jewel Quest 2, and Jewel Quest 2-in-1 are all gone - the only one that is left is Jewel Quest Mysteries - which is sort of a combination of match 3 and hidden object game...
Maritime Monday! Air Sail This is a unique little sailing game that has you tilt your iPhone and blow into the microphone to sail a small Styrofoam boat. This was possibly removed because of a microphone related loophole that pries open sleep mode and allows all sorts of processes to remain active. Then again, that might just be a coincidence.
Trekkie Tuesday! Star Trek: Klingon Suite Not really a game but very amusing. Don't visit Kronos without it. *Removed from some (but not all) countries.
Thanks for the post, Dave. Reminds me, in a way, of my experience with Zen Jar. I received so much spam and more ASCII penises than I could shake a stick at. Not to suggest that I ever received any harmful messages; I just didn't receive any zen-like messages. No means of reporting abuse in-app either. Oh well...
i went to re-download glyder 2.. and apparently its not there anymore.. i bought it when it was on sale.. should of bought glyder 1 too.. as i ended up buying that for my fix.. and it crash's so i cant play it.. assuming its a is04 issue.. in one of the comments they said its available to ipad users tho... chris.
Coin Dozer ...which is interesting because Cookie Dozer is Openfeint's Game Of The Day. Maybe that's why it's gone.
