Hi guys, just a quick question. If your from the states and you buy a game early from NZ, when it comes out after a few hours is it ALWAYS a guarantee free update to a U.S version? Reason I ask is one day I bought Archetype early from the Czech Republic app store and 2 days later it came out.. Went to purchase the US version and it was a free update (well.. said something like "you purchased already .. to download it again for free click ok") So just wondering if all games are free to re-download to the country of your choice if purchased early. It would make it easy for me to buy the game in NZ and play with it a bit before i go to bed around 9 pm EST and not have to try and download it early in the A.M before work. Did you make a czech account and bouught the game from that account? And you recieved the update form your other US account without paying for the game again? Dont think thats possible. I think you are mistaken
Yeah I have a Czech ,Canada and my main account is a U.S. when I saw Archetype available in the US I went to buy it and I got a popup from itunes saying I bought this already to download again for free press ok. And I get my updates in my US account w/out having to change countries. I am pretty sure it happened with God finger as well... So that's why I am wondering.
Maybe it recognises the creditcard if you used the same one? I've only had one instance where I've rebought (ravensword) and I was charged twice *shrug*
God finger was free so you could have downloaded it again without noticing. I have accounts for 3 diff countries and have bought paid apps from all of them. For me, updating/redownloading it from any other account except the one I bought the app from, is not possible. Not sure how it works for you
Ok I believe I have figured it out. Instead of making different accounts just click on your name on the top right hand side of itunes and click on your name... then enter the password.. then click view account.. then click change country or region button. your still under the same account maybe thats why it was a free upgrade... not sure about the Canada one though ... that account is a different account name.. P.S. sorry about posting in the wrong section.. guess it was borderline general discussion about buying games/ and different accounts..
Wouldn't that mean people from other countries could redeem US promo codes then just update from their own store? I'm pretty sure that's not possible.
I'm telling you it's somehow possible, try changing your country like I said above.. and purchase either a .99 game or a free one even a free one once switching back to your normal store will tell you that you have the game, would you like to re-purchase for free.. I'm thinking about changing my store to NZ.. course when I bought Archetype I swear my bank couldn't figure out how to deduct my bank funds it showed "processing" for almost 2 weeks!
It somehow knew my Credit card was not a New Zealand one... Did not have a problem with the Czech store though...oh well.. maybe someone else will have luck.
