Understand that you likely wouldn't want to pay for that. And even if you did, there wouldn't be enough like-minded people to make it a worthwhile investment. Activision's full port of COD2 would cost 19.99, minimum, and quite possibly even more. The success of online mode would be dependant upon a large pool of people owning the game and at such a premium rate, only a relatively small core of gamers would actually buy it. So the lobbies would be more or less empty, I'm afraid. There aren't enough hardcore iDevice gamers to support something like that.

As far as MC2 goes, like all Gameloft games, the fact that they are almost assuredly not going to support 3g cellular network play really takes away from the potential of what they are trying to accomplish here in terms of online MP. For many people, they can only access wi-fi while they are at home. Free public wi-fi hotspots are not an easy thing to come by in many cities and in most communities. Why would I want to play Modern Combat 2 online, using my own wi-fi connection while I'm at home, when I could just as easily play Modern Warfare 2 (the "real deal", so to speak) on my 360 instead?

LOL! No1: "No hardcore iDevice Gamers?" Have you seen any Gameloft Multiplayer leaderboards??? No2: Wifi for all intensive purposes is free. xBox live is not. ROFL stop denying people's ideas bro. It's counter-productive.

I've seen you repeat this argument that cost of porting console games would not allow the devs to make a profit because you think they'd have to raise the price above the $9.99 boundary and it wouldn't sell. I disagree. Gameloft for example have ported PS1 and PS2 games to the iPhone and sold them for less than $10 each. Those games have also made their way onto the top paid and top grossing charts. It wouldn't be too hard for Activision to port a game like COD 1 or 2, even if they charged under $10, I'm sure they'd make a profit. Take a look at how well COD: Zombies sold, that was $9.99 and only included one map.

You are so right man :) and port is more easy then creating a game pop:ww was super awesome and I think it's still on top 50 paid action games cause it is the best one :p they would have made huge profit from a cod 2 port and much more if they actually try to put the full series on iPhone like they do on wii,ds....
