Our sixth Gamebook Adventures title, The Wizard from Tarnath Tor is making it's debut on the iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad in the coming weeks.

"Two hundred years ago, the legendary City of Tarnath Tor was destroyed as it’s defenders, the mighty wizards valiantly tried to repel an orcun horde. Now just a place set within stories and myths, it has been lost to the outside world. A chance encounter with one who claims to be a time traveller sends you on a mission to recover some magical artifacts. This search will lead you to great ruins and the dark forces who have made it their home. Who is this wizard from Tarnath Tor and how can you trust him?"

I can't wait. All five of the previous Gamebooks have been of unbelievable quality. And I also hope that you maintain your policy of an introductory sale price for early adopters. You've created something truly extraordinary with this series.

Thanks Jase23! We will certainly be continuing with our policy of an introductory price. :)

I own all of them and will no doubt buy this one on release as well. Any idea of a firm date or at least a round about to expect to see this hit the store by?

^Your post made me laugh with that flashback of nostalgia! And here I had though I had all but forgot about that game... Man it's funny how many games you forget about that you played back in the day; scary even because if I actually had a running count I fear what the total number of wasted hours on games I have spent would be!

We're in submission at the moment, so as soon as it's approved we'll give it a few days and release. We're going to simultaneously release updates to GA1-5 too which include Game Center support and our new News page.

Anyone who doesn't own them all should also keep an eye on the price of the earlier books too, as it may be a good time over the next few weeks to complete your collection. :)

Well that's odd. I'm usually pretty good on my games history but this classic looks to have passed me by! On doing some google-fu I see that it was an arcade machine ported to the Atari and C64. This explains all, as at this time I was a fully fledged ZX Spectrum 48k boy. Most games were ported to the good old Speccy in the 80s but seems this one didn't.

I have never heard of this style of game. A couple of questions:

What is the intended age range?

Can I start with the new release or do I need to go back to the older games?

We've written a quickstart guide for people who have not read/played a gamebook before. Check it out here: http://gamebookadventures.com/2011/04/15/quickstart-guide/

This is set at 12+. There may be passages containing some gory descriptions (albeit fantasy violence) which, while fun for teenagers, may upset some younger readers.

Each gamebook is a separate story in its own right. They are all set in the same world and on a timeline but they can be played in any order. Knowledge of events in one gamebook will not give you any advantages or disadvantages in another gamebook.
