Hi documen, what do you mean by randomization? Are you talking about random words or random letters? For the quest mode, the words are going to be bet set, so that every time you come back to them it will still be the same and not change. This part is similar to how Textropolis is set up if you have played that. The other two modes I have will have random words each time you enter that mode. This arena mode was setup this way because you will fight a different monster each time you enter that mode. The time trial mode was set up this way as well, but for different reasons. Right now the current build randomizes letters as well, after you hit the submit button. I'm getting mixed feedback on this though, so I'm trying to see if this part can be tweaked. Oh and like MidianGTX suggested, if you'd like to beta test just send me your UDID
Pharmx.... haha, i would love to claim to have the ability to be multiple people at one, but there is only one of me, documAn...not documEn ;-) and no i mean like random letters not words...not for the whole game but a large amount of it. random was a bad word...renew would fit better. Instead of constantly renewing the letters you get, what if you had the same letters through the whole game, but you would need a lot more I guess...and that would only be a set amount............okay there is a flaw in my plan, but i will figure out and get back to you. That way your game will go aluminum (i love larry the cable guy) As for my UDID, I have no idea....i am not sure you grasp the fact that turning this thing on is a challenge for me. I had my little brother set this account up for me. I know letters and numbers, not binary code. But heck, I am a waiter and a college student, if beta pays I take what I can get.
Hmm, not sure I fully understand, but I'll try and explain how Fuzion is set up. Some games like Textropolis (sorry I keep using this one as an example, it's one of my favorites though) are anagram based. So basically you start off with a word and have to use that set of given letters to make more words. For example, if you started out with "parachute" you could make words like "race", "cute", "rate", etc. This will be how Fuzion is set up as well, since it is also anagram based, even thought that won't be immediately obvious because of the way the letters are arranged. Other games like WordFu (another one of my favorites) use a random set of letters, which gives a totally different feel to the gameplay. I tried to achieve a middle ground by making the game anagram based, but with a shuffled tile set so that it seems like random letters. regarding the UDID stuff, I'm going to send you a pm with info on how to get that squared away, so check that in a few mins (the pm link is in the top right of your browser window, underneath your name where you log in)
pm? i take it that means private message...man, i am 20 but you guys make me feel 89. anyways. okay that is kinda cool....anagram is word rearranged...would it be just that singular word rearranged, or are you going to add letters to it as well? Like parachute, will just the word be rearranged, or will you throw some extra ones in there as well. sorry guys, I know this is probably frustrating, but you gotta remember, you have been doing this for years, this is my first time...kinda sheltered as a child.
I've talked to the developers about this, and they're currently working on a solution to that. Actually, I think Vegan hates Agon for this reason, lol. If they don't get it resolved, I can always switch to OpenFeint. I was hesitant to use them before because I was unsure of how the licensing worked and wasn't too keen on their interface. But I like the new look and features, so we'll see.
Has the game an English only dictionary? Or other are planned? (French, Italian, German, Spanish) Many thanks.
Currently the initial release will only have an English dictionary. I would really like to localize to other countries though. Can anyone recommend free or relatively cheap dictionaries for the French, Italian, German, and Spanish languages? I would love to include those in the game. I'll need to get the AppStore descriptions translated too when I do that.
If you want help with the Italian translation, I'm here (even if I promised myself NEVER EVER test a game again...I used to work for Atari many years ago). I do not know where to find other languages dictionaries for anagrams (FREE), but I know they exists (I love word games and I'm sure I read about those in other threads, probably the Dungeon Scroll one...I'll search). Thanks again, your game looks really cool (even if I have to search more...I still have to fully understand how the game flows
Ideas for the name: Scrivener Opus Legend (works nicely with the double meaning for both RPG style and words) Definitely Fuzion sounds wrong though... Jamie.
Thanks for the great suggestions guys, keep them coming! Blending word and rpg games can come up with some interesting combinations, as evidenced by the examples in this thread!
lol that has to be the name! pharmx? what do you think of that? It will definitely...catch peoples eye
Thanks Pitta, I'm going to take you up on that offer! I want to have the AppStore description translated into as many languages as I can, so I welcome native speakers of various languages to contact me if they're interested in helping out.
<World Of Wordcraft great name, but i'm afraid blizzard would on it like white on rice, or flies on something else...
Even if it doesn't catch Blizzard's wrath, it looks like someone already has that one covered: http://www.worldofwordcraft.com/ Besides, if I did something like that I'd be tempted to reactivate my account which I canceled a long time ago. Almost caved in with WotLK, but resisted the temptation, lol.
I have that Nintendo Wii line stuck in my head "Wii would like to play" so I figured I'd post one of the two classes in the game. Here's a picture of the warrior, let me know what you think!
