As much as I don't want an over the top victory song like in Peggle...I still need something short, sweet, yet still satisfying.

Can anyone suggest some games I should check out for inspiration? Ideally, once a quest is finished, a monster defeated, or a time trial won, I'd like some sort of aural gratification.

edit: ok, I just reread that, and it sounds pretty bad! you guys know what I mean though!

On a side note, just got the remastered sound effects for the different monsters!

    Zombies? check
    Vampires? check

...Werewolves and Demons too! The combination sounds a bit cheesy, but the plot should hopefully tie everything together :D

Well, the good news is, if everything falls into place well, it will be more eerie than cheesy :D

A trumpet noisee is actually the direction we're leaning towards :D

I think Dren said he's working on a horn sound similar to something from LotR.

    Eerie's good :D

The story and quest elements should really help set the mood in that respect.

Great news on the story front, a professional (published novelist) has expressed interest in the game. This should help tie up loose ends with the plot and character developments.

Just to give you a taste of what's in store, here's the intro:

    Prologue (intro)

The rain stops and clouds part to show a brightly glistening moon. As light filters through the trees keeping gloomy shadows at bay, the crystal silence of night is broken, and a piercing howl reverberates through the air. The ground starts to tremble and a roaring thunder can be heard in the distance. They are coming.

Massive creatures with sharp claws and even sharper teeth can be seen approaching. The pack seems to have gotten larger since their last attack. A pity, since it could only mean that we're not doing our job well. A menacing growl cuts my thoughts short, as I hear the first sounds of battle. They are here.

Hopefully people like my writing style! Having repeatable quests make it a little tricky, but I hopefully solved that by having some nonlinear storylines in addition to the linear plot.

This is sounding promising pharmx:) hopefully as the game nears completion Arn or Blake will feel that Fuzion is newsworthy and feature an article to give it's induction into the App Store that added "oomph" that fellow TA'ers will be fuelling as well.

Best of success to you can't wait to hear more.

From what we've seen so far, it certainly is up to scratch.
I absolutely love word games, and this looks extremely well done.

Can't wait, one of my post anticipated iPhone titles right now :)

Thanks guys! Writing was a pain at times, lol. I'd start off with a great idea and then hit a wall because I couldn't figure out where to go with it or how to connect it to everything else. It was fun too though, and rewarding when you see the final product and how everything comes together.

Thanks! There's still features I haven't discussed yet like the online leaderboards, and how those are going to be incorporated. :D

Thanks! I know Zincous is going to kill me for this, but I went with Agon for the leaderboards stuff instead of OpenFeint.

    i drive a fusion......

    Okie doke...here we go. I have been told you are never supposed to admit this, especially on a forum, but I think I need to get something off my chest....I have never been an Apple fan. BUT BUT BUT....I just bought my first iPhone, so i am making up for lost times. Truth be told, i am still trying to figure out how to load a dang game, (dont think cuss words fly on this...) any ways...i love RPG games, but I hate them on this format (I have played an RPG based game that was on my iPod, but I love word games and this intrigued me. But (and I am sorry if I repeat a question, I didnt read all the q's and a's) they get boring. I love scholastic learning and I love logic puzzles, I hate these games because they do not help scholastically at all, they merely pass time. With the randomization every 2 seconds, you dont learn any new words, just look for words you already know. Have you thought about trying to keep the same letters instead of giving you new ones...in essence that would also (for me) give me something to strive for. Also the graphics are great, they really are...compliments to the chef (but I am more of a FF8 kinda guy (;
