Yep...just trying to get the timing down for everything. Seems like I have to be a master juggler for everything to come together properly, lol.
By the way, TA's very own Kunning will be writing the side quests for the game. He might grace this thread with a quest or two to whet your appetite
Lol, just finished polishing up one of the last of the 48 quests, and I see this post... by the way Vinny, check your email! Here's a quest from the Lycan Tribes Area: 5. Waking Wolves: Walking through the countryside, you wonder why you havent seen any humans so far. After all, if there were no humans here, what did the werewolves eat? The only thing here that youve seen other than werewolves was plant life. Surprisingly, a walled enclosure loomed up ahead, and you saw humans patrolling the tops of the walls. Your stomach gurgled for food, since you havent eaten in days. You started sprinting towards the walls, until you tripped over a leg. A furry leg. Getting up, you notice that you just walked straight into a small tribe of werewolves. Great. It seemed like food would have to be put on hold for a little while
Checked and replied...great work so far! So what do you guys think? Jeff's got some writing chops huh? Although we'll probably have to change the word Lycan...I think that's from the Underworld series.
actually yes and no, underworlds got it from a greek term lycanthropes which in english means werewolf.
No actually "lycan" is refering to the race from underworlds. It's just lycanthropes is the on that isn't coined. But I don't think it matters much seeing as we can consider it a shortened word from lycanthropes to lycan and got to say it sounds better than saying werewolf.
Guess I'll check to see if it's been trademarked, but I'll leave it in as Lycans for now, hehe. On a side note, the first beta build has been sent out to testers, so hopefully we'll get some impressions from them soon about what they like and what can be improved
You betcha...and already have a slew of valuable feedback Time to start incorporating some of that into the game! It seems I really need to have some sort of tutorial or guide though. I'm trying to figure out the best way to implement this. It can be something simple like a static image with text overlays, or as involved as an interactive guide. Cost is going to be the main issue here, so we'll see what happens.
Well, it looks like I missed the boat on getting this out in time for Halloween...maybe I should aim for a release near Twilight: New Moon....or not, lol Development should wrap up next week, and submission soon after. Then it will be in the hands of the good folk at Apple!
Heya Glenn I don't think Josh would appreciate that too much with Ravensword coming out soon Congrats on the Ground Effect submission by the way, now it's in Apple's hands! I'll be joining you soon enough playing the waiting game
It was actually Pam's idea. Well, I say "idea", a few weeks back she asked if I'd been reading Josh's "Ravens word" thread I guess she hasn't been exposed to RPG game names for decades like some of us... Your game looks amazing by the way, best of luck with it.
I second that! Can't believe you had the time or energy to help us out on Ground Effect at the same time as developing this! Thanks
Glad to hear! Sorry for the delay guys, hit a couple of snags during development. Just ironing out the details By the way, I got Michael of Fully Illustrated to create the website design. You may recognize his name...he worked on the site for Field Runners as well as Pocket Monkey. Here's a link to his site: http://www.fullyillustrated.com/ Can't wait for you guys to see what he's been working on!
