Again, to use Guild Wars as an example, there's room for both. The DLC would be more for "cosmetic" upgrades, while an expansion would introduce new content.
Hey, what kind of contest should I have right before release? What was your favorite contest here at TA?
Little white bear studios. good contest that took a while for each on and keeps its relavent to you or your game.
LWBS is one of my favorite devs, along with Imangi studios. Maybe I can twist their arm into helping me out when it's time to hold the contest
Oh and I'll make sure I have some promo codes just for members, so that lurkers don't get all of them!
Should the monsters in the game have specific names or should they remain sort of generic? Since you can fight the same monster multiple times in the Arena, I wasn't sure which would be more appropriate.
maybe you could do a mix. for more common monsters, have a uniform name. but for higher lv/more important monsters give them original names
Excellent! PuzzleQuest was an amazing game. Hopefully you'll have a game that is similar in length to it. Is the amount of RPG elements in Fuzion relatively the same as in PuzzleQuest? And I'm still waiting for Ch. 3 of Puzzlequests, which was due months ago.
Yeah, that's what I was thinking too. There's going to be boss monsters, so I guess those can be named, and the other ones don't necessarily have to have names.
yea that'd be the best way to balance it. im kinda anxious for this to come out sounds intriguing..when do u plan on submitting it/whats the price tag?
I would love to say that Fuzion has the same amount of content as PuzzleQuest, but sadly it does not. If only I had the budget for something like that
u shouldnt necessarily worry bout the content for the moment, as long as it has solid gameplay and high replay value, you'll be fine. if/when ur game becomes popular [which hopefully it does ] then from that revenue, if u really wanted to, u could add content updates.
Uhhh will this be a word game with rpg elements or just a rpg theme? Cuz there's already a themed one, called dungeon scrolls
I'm pretty sure he said rpg elements...and from what I can see it will be much better that dungeon scrolls
I hope it's better than dungeon scrolls. liked he idea but not really the implementation. Puzzle quest was one of my all time favorites, I hope this is alot like it, REALLY want this game to Be good looks amazing
Fuzion will be closer to Dungeon Scrolls than Puzzle Quest, so if that means "rpg theme" instead of "rpg elements" then I guess that's what it is. I don't want to mislead anyone, so if you can explain what the difference between those 2 terms are, I might be able to give you a better and more specific answer. These are the rpg aspects of the game: - choice of 2 classes, each with its own bonus to gameplay - main storyline and plot progression - several side quests - explorable map with specific zones and regions for quests - monsters of varying difficulty - progression based on areas and monsters unlocked by completing quests - faction system in which you are a mercenary allowing you to choose which side you want to help at any given point in time These are the word puzzle aspects of the game: - anagram based gameplay similar to Textropolis - casual untimed mode for quests - fast paced time trials - definitions and word ticker displayed during quest mode
There's a fine line between them but this is going to be much better than Dungeon scrolls in terms of what it offers.
