Glaurung Chess It has one of the strongest chess engines in the app store, and it's completely free. If Fritz Chess didn't exist, I would have gladly spent $3.99 for this game.

Also, the free versions of both Arctopia and Archibald's Adventures (lite) have enough content to be paid (full versions have over 100 levels, but free versions have 40+). I have paid games with only 20 or 30 levels with less content than the free versions of Arctopia and Archibald's Adventures.
