I would've said RE but people wouldn't thought I was referring to the new one. It's similar to DS1 in that it's focused n the scares and gameplay like that game was.
Probably more than that, It's a long story! But to make it short. I started writing my own engine when i was at college, back in that time FM (was called Forgotten Prophecies) took different incarnations. Till I drop my engine (sniff, sniff lol) and focus on game related tools/features with an existing engine that was 20x better than mine. The real production started by the end of 2010. Before that, there was only design and prototypes that took different shapes until what we got today and we are very happy with. So, about 2 years of blood, tears but also joy! xD Cheers, PS: I'll write the long story of FM development as a post-Morten once the game is released.
Of course! Next week we have a new version (not beta) but there's tons of additions and bug fixes. I'm going to show the hide system and a bit more of the AI, how it works, what they do, etc. There's not mindless AI zombie behavior in FM. Enemies are pretty smart and can surprise you in many ways. Stay tuned!
This unity engine really adapts well with the apple os. Can't wAit for this. This and nyz2 are gonna be anazing
Ok, now I got it. I thought you were saying that it's similar to Dead Space while refering to the shooter part of the game.
@fastbridge, Unity scales really nice, from very tiny small games to gigantic MMO games. It doesn't mean that you'll be able to create those games but if you have the sources (money and skilled team) yes! Regarding graphics, Unity give you direct access to hardware, you can use OpenGL inside Unity, create any kind of shading and effect, create your own lighting model, whatever you want (if you can). You can extend the Unity editor and create your own specific tools. For example we have our mission (well objective/quest) editor, dialog and item system hooked in the editor with other tools, they are all part of our our own framework (FOG which stands for Fear Oriented Gameplay). Unity is simply amazing and powerful. The upcoming Unity4 will have support for Directx11 (with many other great new features/additions). We are private alpha and beta developers of Unity, we give direct input/feedback to them every day, they made changes on Unity based on our feedback/suggestions and they are the coolest developers on earth! PS: We are already using Unity4 on Forgotten Memories!
Thanks. This game looks epic and has climbed to top of my list for most anticipated games EVER! Can't wait.
I think Tato needs to stop posting here until the game is released, that way we can better stand the wait. ... No I'd rather be teased another 4 months
I know how depressing is waiting for something we like. I can share those thoughs with you! But the good thing is that upcoming titles (even if they aren't sequels of Forgotten Memories) will be done faster as we will be using our FOG Framework to create those!
I can't exactly say the date but around Christmas. Keep in mind that we have our own budget and we aren't rushing any release date, we don't have any publisher waiting for us to finish our game, we are 100% independent. If we need more time to polish we will take it, i mean after so many years we can't simply rush and publish a bad product, it wont happen. Believe me, at the end you all going to be happy with the game, that's the goal. So please, be patient, you'll be rewarded with an awesome game that you'll play over and over! Warm regards from Psychoz Team.
