The idea (including prototypes and older demos) was running around the last two-three years, even before i leave Gameloft to fund Psychoz Interactive. So please stop pretending to know what we have done, when and how, no one here knows all the obstacles we had to overcome in order to stay alive and independent. The production of Forgotten Memories started in mid-2010. Back in 2010, we used to do some interim client works to self fund Forgotten Memories it wasn't easy at first but we are working now with a very nice publisher, things are different now.
That's nice. Now go follow the adventures of Ryan as he created TWO separate FPS RPGs in the same timespan as this SINGLE game - both Necromancer Rising and Mission Europa. AND that was in his spare time. AND he had to build his own game engine as well. AND he still had to work a completely separate job - i.e. "his day job". AND he did it all on his own with about 3 beta testers. AND he self-funded it himself. AND he took time to post here and elsewhere in-game development pics and vids. I guess what I'm trying to say is, you have no excuses for this delay other than this entire thing doesn't exist. You created this thread and then just decided to forget about it.
Your right, Ryan did make 2 fps games by himself with all those exception but with each project, its diffrent issues and obstacles. comparing him to other teams is wrong. He is a great programmer. This team probably have issues that pertain to a team, may it be money issues for pay or time. I dont know the problem but to assume they stoped or they just forgot about it is wrong. Programming console games and programming app games have the same process and not all teams can complete a game in a year or even 6 months time. To assume that is stupid. You have a right to say they forgot about it and rant about how long the game is taking but dont come off as a douche about it. just ask if they are still doing it or not. until you create a game, go through the game development cycle or even deal with the funds of creating a game, dont assume things and say they did something without them telling you. On the other hand, i can wait. Im not in a rush to play it. i rather have a great game instead of a rushed one. Keep up the good job.
First off, those games have different art and visual styles than Forgotten Memories. They are old school PS1 graphics using fixed function pipeline and we are working on shader based rendering with next gen mobile graphics featuring real-time lighting, shadows and post effects. They also have different gameplay mechanics than FM. How can you compare two games/engines completely different? Do you know how long it took FarmVille to be done? Five weeks and they are putting millions and millions of dollars each month with one five weeks game. Dev time is wayyy too relative. Sorry, your assumptions and comparison of dev time are completely false and wrong. I wont keep this discussion forever, so please stop now.
Have you even played Mission Europa yet? I guess not judging by the comments you made. What I'm trying to say is that you somehow have an entire company dedicated to this yet cannot come out with this in a YEAR? Cannot post screenshots or video in a YEAR? Show us something that really proves your working on this game you posted in here about more than a YEAR ago. Otherwise you're just trying to create hype for something that doesn't exist and trading on a existing named product, namely Dead Strike. Which quite frankly, several people - including myself - weren't too impressed with the iOS version. And why can't you self-publish like Ryan has? Why do you need a publisher? Sounds to me like all you have at this point is a game IDEA and not really a game and would like someone to pay for you to actually develop it. If that's true, at least own up to it and have this thread locked until you can scrounge up the funds.
I already tell you that Forgotten Memories production started in mid 2010 and not a year+ like you are assuming. Yes our demos and early prototypes where done more than a year a go but back in that time Psychoz Interactive didn't exist yet, we where a bunch of game developers working in our spare time, testing mechanic ideas, we didn't even though all this will become a real project. However, we have been posting images progress each month and even tech videos (look on my youtube channel) to show progress. Anyone following this thread (and not just the final pages like you) knows that I've posted an incredibly amount of images on the iPhone/iPad with real progress. Btw, I'm uploading the gameplay video on youtube right now.
Forgot to mention that the gameplay video isn't a 2 mins video, is the whole demo (40 mins) recorded on the iPad2.
Can't wait!! And btw, for all those people that said all they're doing is creating hype, they HAVE created alot of hype, so now they need to live up to it. So give um some time for christ's sake, don't you have other things to do in life than complain about a game not being released yet?
Wow... a lot of grief towards the developer, that's very uncool. Keep on working away at it Tatoforever! These developers have got tons more experience under their belt than any of the entitled punks jabbing away at them here. I haven't even been following Forgotten Memories but this sort of arrogant attacking [exampled above] is especially nauseating.
Alright the video is fully uploaded. Note: This is not the final game but a quick gameplay demo to showcase game core mechanics, neither the cameras, interfaces, progress and storyline in this demo are final. There's some missing features in this early build for a number of reasons:not yet finished, buggy, need polish. Interfaces for the puzzle/riddle and menu systems are still being worked on. Also, some animations/states are a bit buggy/sluggy. We are improving those systems for our next milestone, the first beta of FM. Rest assured, this is just an alpha build of what's coming. Our goal is to release Forgotten Memories beta this summer/autumn and the final version before this Christmas (2011). Btw, the iPad2 is a monster compared to the iPad1, FM on that litle beast looks awesome, I'll le you watch for yourself: And forgive me for the quick rush in the demo, i din't had the time to fully explore everything, but anyway, enjoy!
First impressions: 1.) UI needs some work, the buttons look unnecessarily large 2.) Menus need some work 3.) I like the dynamic camera (such as at 9:35) better than the fixed "Security Camera style how I think of it" camera (such as at 11:35) but that is just my opinion. 4.) The character looks like a real slut Overall it looks really great, the graphics are amazing and the sound is pretty good too. So excited for the beta!
woow video is awesome but what it needs alson beside what thethinice said the autoaiming option there must be an auto aim to help u aim for enemies better and faster way overall games is awesome and can't wait for the beta .oh and btw is the music included in the video showing rose in too many suits and show case of the character environment where she is nude ...is this music included in the game cause it was awesome background music
