It really bothers me to see games cracked, that is why so many developers have gone the freemium route. I'd be interested in seeing the figures of piracy on games like modern combat 4. It's really too bad that these pirates have spoiled the App Store for people that are willing to pay premium prices.

I guess Tato and crew have to do what's best for their investment to make money and to show, that the time and effort that was put into making this game was worth it. I support that !!

No I'm not implying that either, it just seemed you were setting some coercion with your statement: "be premium or I won't buy", which we know that if the game is good you will buy it regardless of the model, even more if it's freemium cause it will let you download it for free, It'd be retarded to no download it in that case.

And you're being too dramatic XD I'm not attacking you, I'm just saying. :D

I don't know if there are many people who want a full survival horror game on their idevice willing to spend 9.99+ for it... Especially People who haven't heard of it when it comes out. If it's priced at 2.99-6.99 I think it will be successful. It's not so much because of people being cheap or pirates, it is because of the competition with so many developers on the appstore. With several games coming out every week if they were all priced high all of the sub par games wouldn't be bought.

and indeed i say it is not premiun i wont buy since i dont like iap to unlock like others dont like f2p etc etc, and since now and then apple shows up with some stupids new rules and apps gets pulled, remove and etc so those that bought the iap to unlock can restore it, a game can be as good as you want but if is not my cup of tea i dont buy since i'm throwing money to every devs

nevertheless we will wait and see like it goes out, i'm you think that over dramatic well i dont know what you will call all the stuff in the rr3 thread

Your reasoning is correct to an extent. People who haven't heard of this game probably wouldn't spend 10 dollars or upwards, but generally iOS gamers are cheap and with the exception of a few games are not willing to spend more than 3 dollars on a game. That's why most top paid games on the app store are an average of a couple dollars.

I think it is mainly cause most iOS gamers are indeed cheap and spoiled.

And I think the competition in the appstore is as high as in any console market.

Denigrating games with so much polish and production values like FM just cause $2.99-$6.99 is the "norm" is half of the problem with the lack of depth in this platform, the other half is that most devs exploit that 1st half of the problem making $0.99 games that are crap.

I would. In the blink of an eye.
The App Store needs console quality premium games with no freemium or iap aspects. For a good game like this, since my iPad replaced my Wii, I'd pay 9,99 without any hesitation. Because it's quality.

    Look out your window.
For a solid, good, long, sufficantly scary horror game like this, because I freaking love these, I'd happily pay $15+

But most of the people browsing the App Store won't. It's stupid but true.

Either apple or the devs remove their stuff just take a look with appshopper after years in the app store it was remove because now it looks to the original app store

Either way there is no point in this

    On the video: wow.

On the pricing: at this point it's all speculation, and anyone here who thinks they "know" what will sell (or not) in the App Store is fooling themselves.

From what im seeing here I will gladly pay $20 for this game, and slap an ipad or 2 on EA's face. Oh... And on SE too.

Tato, this is abso-f******-lutely perfect. Sorry, there just isnt a more powerful word to describe perfect as much as the F word.

And for the doubters... who gets the last laugh?

Well according to current trends in the app store, I have a pretty good idea what sells and what doesn't. I'm not saying that I know all the statistics but games like Final Fantasy which is priced at approx. 15 dollars, The World ends with you at 18 dollars don't sell well in the US anyway. Games that are priced 10 dollars or more don't make it on the top 25 paid apps.

Personally I would pay 10 dollars for this game because this would be a console experience on iOS, but the average iOS gamer would not pay that price.

Average iOS gamer will continue playing 0,99$ shit (not really, but compared to) that was made with much less effort.

Those who really wanted World ends With You - those did bought it.

Forgotten Memories, Chaos Rings, Republique - any other iOS exclusives (well, i know about Tato's plans for Steam and Vita) that are like full games? I mean with level of details much higher then Gameloft's Clone Hybrids

That is true, the average iOS gamer just wants a cheaper .99 cent game. I'm not talking about most of the people on this thread that would spend 10 bucks on this game.

Also true about people that bought World ends with you, they knew what the game was and bought it but the overall goal is to make money and a lot of it, if possible. Therefore they have to price it accordingly ( I'm not saying they should price at .99 cents which is laughable)

I'm hoping that if Tato sets the price at anywhere from 6.99 to 9.99 that he will make a maximum profit and maybe reverse this trend of people just spending a buck for an app or waiting for it to go on sale.

I would like to see this game, hit the top 25 paid apps !

    Guys,
We want to show you some of the stuff we do to live debugging FM. We use AirPlay and big HD screens to see how things goes with your device on our hands. Now it's time for some internal showcase debugging:

Notice how the iPhone5 is so powerful that it can handle live preview on both screens without any lag.
You will find lots of bugs in that video (that's the main purpose of those live sessions), in fact it was an older build but we decided upload it for the sake of TA users entertainment, so please don't share it outside this forum.
    More stuff coming soon.
    With love from Psychoz Team!
