    Hi everybody,

A new update of Flower Garden was just approved, just in time for Valentine's Day! If you're not familiar with Flower Garden, here's the initial coverage from TouchArcade.

Of course, a lot has changed since then and it's much improved. This last update includes numerous user interface improvements as well as two more in-app purchases: Seeds of Love and a Greenhouse garden.

Also, to celebrate Valentine's Day and encouraging more people to give Flower Garden a try, it's now on sale for $0.99 for this weekend only (regular price is $2.99). So if you haven't tried it yet, here's your chance.

For those of you on the fence, remember there's a Flower Garden Free version. It's just like the full version, but with fewer seeds and pots. The nice thing is that you can upgrade the free version to the full one by buying three $0.99 items, so it ends up being the same (except now that there's a sale going on, of course).

Feel free to post here with any questions or feedback, or you can use the Facebook group or feedback form.

    Hope you enjoy it!

Version 2.3 just released for mother's day. Don't believe it's on sale this time though; sorry thread seemed appropriate, hope it hasn't been posted already.

Ability to move individual flowers in bouquets, great that should help avoid the graphics clipping that can ruin the looks!

iPad compatibility ... not sure if that ups the resolution though; I've always wanted to be able to export bouquets at higher than iPhone screen res! And I would also like to be able to export without the note space, as most of the time I'm just keeping them as pretty pics ... and emailing them to myself, sadly :(.

New seeds for mother's day too; yay more to unlock, and I've still got to unlock the last of the winter lot!

New 70 and 150 dose fertiliser lots to buy for more money; probably should have guessed given that the previous fertiliser purchase was renamed with (20 dose) a week or so ago. But come on, perma-fertiliser already, it would make it much easier and less stressful to let cousins and such use and enjoy the app when you only see them for brief periods and don't want to spend more all the time :).

Thanks for the announcement MartiNZ :)

Yes, a new version just hit the App Store! As you said, you can now move individual flowers in a bouquet, which was hands-down the most requested feature on the Facebook group.

The iPad version adds full resolution for all 3D graphics. It looks a thousand times better than it did before on iPhone 2X mode. The rest of the 2D screens are mostly at the same resolution as the iPhone, you just see more of them (like the seeds screens.

For example, here are some iPhone screenshots of the 2D interface:

and here the equivalent ones on the iPad:

Now when you email a bouquet, either through an iPhone or an iPad, the image is much higher resolution than before too.

I never thought about sending it without the tag. Maybe if you leave the tag text empty, it won't include it. How about that? I can do that for the next update.

I hear you on the fertilizer, but unfortunately that's what's really keeping Flower Garden afloat. Without it, I coudn't justify continuing to develop it. I did think about having an IAP that would give you unlimited fertilizer forever though. The question is what would be a fair price for it? ;-b

I'm also playing with the idea of another mode that gives you all past and *future* IAPs for free. Like a super-exclusive key membership, or whatever. Again, pricing would be tricky.

Keep any feedback coming. You just never know what I might decide to do :)

Oh pretty iPad pics, and higher res exports, just tested that, takes a little longer to send but very nice result. Note remains nicely centred as well. I can understand why you never thought to exclude the note, it is supposed to be more of a social app after all; but especially with new flowers to unlock, and after a reinstall like I did recently, there are far too many flowers to grow to have enough people to whom to send them, especially when one doesn't know many people that would understand the concept of getting virtual flowers in their email :).

I will be making a point of sending some to my mother, and my sister-in-law, for mother's day though, so the new seeds will serve their purpose, and I may even have to go for some fertiliser, lol. I get your point around the purchase issue; what would be a fair price indeed!

    Hi Habakuk,

Clearly I'm biased (I'm the developer of Flower Garden), but I can definitely say that you can TOTALLY "play it" without any of the in-app purchases.

The game was designed without the IAP in mind, and that's how it was until a few months ago. All IAPs add are more flower types, more pots (you have to be quite a "power user" to want more than the default 12 pots), and fertilizer (grow the flowers without having to wait).

So give it a try! It's free all this weekend to celebrate Mother's Day in the US, so can't go wrong with that :)

Hope you like it! Let me know if you have any feedback or suggestions.

Further along with what I was on about, could there more simply be an option to send the bouquet shot to the camera roll instead of by email, this without the note space?

Good idea. That should be easy enough to do. I'll add that in the next version. Thanks for the suggestion!

By the way, a new update of Flower Garden just went live. This one includes the feature of sending a bouquet without the tag (just leave the text blank).

It also includes some of the most-requested features such as playing your own background music and a vacation mode.

No new flowers in this one. Saving it for an upcoming spectacular update :)

Loving this game! So much fun to send someone your one homegrown flowers! :D

I would love to have an extra option to send your flowers in 3D, like in a short movie or something, so they can rotate. The beauty of the flower gets lost when the picture turns to 2D in the mail IMHO.

And one more thing, I would like to have push notification when one of my plant gets near dry and needs to be watered, not like now where you get an indication after the plants get dry.

So nice that you are open for feedback. All the best to you!
