If you haven't played these yet I recommend them, For the GC: Tales of Symphonia, Baten Kaitos 1+2 PS2(Too many, but here are some that I really loved): Persona 4, Star Ocean: Till the End of Time, Rogue Galaxy, Xenosaga 1+2+3, and Kingdom Hearts 1+2. And I can't wait until Versus comes out, I'm sure it's going to awwwweeeesome.
You don't need an Xbox... why would you even want one when the CGI quality takes hits like this? Both images are zoomed in, but damn, can I have my textures back please? Looks like a pirated movie.
Yup own them all and have yet to beat any of them except kingdom hearts lol. Working on Persona 3 ATM and just picked up the 3 shadow hearts games and Skies of Arcadia legends.
Never beat Skies of Arcadia, unfortunately I lost the game disc when I moved. Still have the case and manual though.
Just finished FF XIII and I have to say I'm a wee bit disappointed, but it could have been alot worse. It has one of the best battle-systems I've seen in a J-RPG to date: It's simple but if you want to get yourself involved with it further you can really do some number-crunching. I don't see alot of replayability in this game though as it's weakest link in my opinion is the story and characters, combined with the extreme linearity which just doesn't feel like Final Fantasy at all. There is however a pretty extensive end-game for all the grinders and achievers out there, and I know I will be getting myself into it the following week. And also: other than the battletheme, I can't remember a single song from 13, please Nobou.. Come back! . As for my favourite in the series I'd say it's a close call between 6 and 7, even though I've replayed 7 the most amount of times.
I just beat the first disc on the 360 (about 8 hours in) and I'm hoping the story and characters become more interesting The love sequences between Snow and Serah are very cringeworthy to watch :-/
I'm on chapter 5 and loving it. The story itself is fine, it's just the script/voice actors that aren't too good... but when you consider the cultural differences it's pretty apt. The Japanese tend to go for the glassy-eyed, staring into the sky dream sequences and over the top emotion between characters. It's not a nitty-gritty western RPG and I'm glad, 'cause we've got enough of those. There's the occasional cringe-worthy moment, but hey, I love crappy 80s/90s action films too. I'm also finding it more fun playing with a friend watching, so we're constantly engaged in non-stop discussion regarding the story. Going through the Datalog, filling in the blanks ourselves, digging into each character's personality and of course having the occasional laugh at a badly-written line. It enhances the experience quite a bit. Of course the best part is the battle system, really fun and varied once you start unlocking more jobs and actions, feels faithful to the FF series too.
Hello, been browsing these pages for almost a year now yet this is my first post on TA! So i'm a game dev, 3d artist and programmer, i used to work on next-gen titles for one of the major video game companies blah blah... i'm now a starving indie dev currently working on a super duper cool iPhone game etc etc... it will be the best thing ever, it will blow your mind and so on... With that out of the way, my favorite FF game is FFX and i love the PS1 legendary trio (FFVII and up). I understand why some people don't like FFXIII but personally i love it. Everything moves fast, no time wasted, just cool fights and story. It's fun and if you hate it, don't worry you'll be just fine when Versus comes out i'm pretty sure. Lastly, i feel kind of ashamed of saying this in my first post here but it's legit. I made a guide for Final Fantasy XIII and it just hit the app store. It's no crappy copy paste of some website. Actual stats for every character and weapons, trophies, components, etc. It's doing very good right now, in the top 50 books in 6 countries. So if anyone's interested i'll give a promo code to the first five PMs i get (cause i want actual forum members to get it). I'll update this very post when I run out of codes. If any of you guys got the app and have feedback do let me know! I'm already working on the first update to make it even better so go ahead and tell me what you like and don't like. iTunes link: http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/miniguide-final-fantasy-xiii/id363553324?mt=8 Pleased to meet you! Oh yeah and i'm a robot.
Instead of PMing you I just bought the app and it's pretty neat Good design, instant loading and detailed stats! I never bothered with getting a guide for the game so this is a great stat companion to FF XIII!
Awesome! Thank you for the feedback! I'm working hard to have some features not available in the paper-based guide.
