This, Bastion, TWEWY, and now KOTOR and Warhammer are the top shelf in iOS legacy in my opinion. A good friend on TA once told me he plays this every day. That sold me. (thanks Cilo) Awesome game!
I dont know about KOTR, but I played this masterpiece all the times when this game first came out for Playstation 1. In my opinion, the only minor and probably unnecessary update left is that the scrolling touch may beed a better work for iphone version, or at least include a d-pad option.
Kind of a ridiculous question, but I have so little space on my 3GS thanks to Warhammer and plenty of other recent releases. Still wanting to get this, so it got me curious if anyone is playing this on an iPod Touch 2G. Requirements are only for needing iOS 4.0 with no other restrictions so I was thinking I could break out the old geyser for this.
^^ Dont see a question. I dont think you will be able to play this game normally with 3GS. I used to have one and it's too slow, but I'm surprised you are able to play recent games. Go ahead.. it's a free try.
But it's not free to try. Still might take advantage of the $7.99 sale and could always play it on my 3GS at a later date. I'm also pleased and surprised at how many games still support the 3GS. I'd say about 90% of new releases still do. And most of them still run very well on it.
I played this on my 3Gs when it first came out and didn't have too many problems. Maybe a few crashes and a little bit of a slowdown. But from what I understand those were issues with all devices, not just "older" ones.
Downloading this today for my iPad. Haven't been in a rush to play it since I have beaten it a couple times before on PS1 but figured I should take advantage of the discounted price. Will put it in my queue to play after I finish KoToR. Now that FFT, KoToR, and Baldur's gate are on iPad, we just need ports of Ogre Battle 64 and Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri to have my 5 favorite games of all time on one device. Now that Firaxis is making ios games, maybe a port of Alpha Centauri isn't as impossible to dream about as it was before. I have no idea who owns Ogre Battle 64 to know if it is even possible to ever get a remake/port of it. A port of Ogre Tactics would be nice too considering it is almost as good as Final Fantasy Tactics and its more challenging. I actually have better memories of playing Ogre Tactics than I do FFT since I played it first and my mind was already blown.
Oh crap i accidentally bought the iphone version. Is there anyway i can get a refund or swap for the ipad version since they cost the same? Who can i talk to?
^ I had the iphone version from before i had my ipad3 too... So im considering buying the ipad version now that i main the minipad for my gaming needs. Also, can anyone confirm that icloud saving works fine?
Nice to see this getting a rather good update. I picked this up as I regret not playing through the PS version.
I requested a refund once because I accidentally bought an iPad version. I had to jump through a lot of hoops but eventually I got the refund. I think if you are honest and this is your first request they probably will.
Took the plunge and tried it on my old 2G and it runs like a charm. But crap does it wear down the battery fast. Will replay on my 3GS (or my new phone when my upgrade hits). Only downside now is the lack of iCloud on the 2G. No biggie. I've also got Warhammer taking my time but wanted to grab this with the sale.
I have this for my PSP, but the graphics were slightly blurry and the controls were sometimes a bit frustrating for me. In fact, I think I quit the game after a while because of some of those issues. But then again, I think I must be strange. I love TBS games, including the whole Advance Wars series, Jeanne d'Arc, Fire Emblem, HOMM, GLWG, GBWG, TWEWY, etc., but this one was just too much for me. I never could fully get into it. However, for half off, I'm thinking I might have to give it another shot here on the Ipad.
Got an email to confirm that they are refunding my purchase! Yay! Better make sure i click on the right link this time
