Sudden Death is indeed very epic It does a great job of bringing fast paced, action oriented gameplay to the TD genre, so I hope you like it! Unfortunately, there isn't a whole lot I can say about either of these questions. We should have more info about updates after the iPhone version launches this week (hopefully launching Wednesday). Regarding iCloud, it won't be in the iPhone version at launch, but we've talked about adding it in an update. AWESOME Hope you leave some feedback after you've had a chance to play As always, feel free to send more questions! I can't say a whole lot about our post iPhone launch plans (a lot of this stuff just hasn't been decided yet), but I'll share as much as there is to share
We'll, Unfortunately for me I'll be passing on fieldrunners 2 if the pricing is going to be high like fieldrunners 1. I can purchase several great apps for that kind of money and they'll probable be universal.
I kind of feel the same. I'd pay £1.99 for the iphone and £2.99 for the iPad but if the the iPad version is going to be £5.49 like the original one then I will be passing. There is far too much competition and quality out there. £5.49 is far too expensive for a TD game regardless of how good it is. Fingers crossed for sensible decent pricing.
Good question! The iPhone version of the original Fieldrunners was made by only 3 people. For Fieldrunners 2, we've bulked up the team to a little over 20 people, which has helped us turn the sequel into a huge game overflowing with awesome content Pricing is always a tough thing to talk about. Everyone has a right to their own opinions That said, I still hope you take the time to check out Fieldrunners 2. It's always been important for us to make sure that the game has more value than whatever we end up pricing it at, so people have a great experience with the game. As a result, we've loaded it with tons of revolutionary mechanics (there's really nothing else out there like it), a ridiculous quantity of maps, and an awesome amount of imaginative weapons. As an avid iOS gamer myself, I can honestly say that it packs the the content/gameplay of five games into a single package (completing the campaign takes much longer than you'd spend beating most $10 games on XBLA/PSN). Now, maybe there are some people that don't want a super deep, highly polished game like ours. That's fine - there are other games out there that they can play. But we wanted to make Fieldrunners 2 one of the richest, most exciting experiences available in an iOS game, so that's what we did. While we still haven't made a firm decision on pricing, whatever we choose, you will definitely get your money's worth Haven't made a final decision on pricing yet, but we'll let you know as soon as we do.
Most excited news I've heard this year! Fieldrunners is still probably one of my favorite games after tons of games I've played in iPhone 3, 4, 4S, iPad, iPad2 and iPad3. You normally only see that much of details in Japanese games when it comes to art and I've got utter respect for amount of details you put into the game design and visuals. Can wait to test my eagle eyes on the retina display on iPad! This is my most anticipated title on mobile apart from Infinite Blade Dungeon!
That's quite a compliment! Thank you very much We spend a lot of time making the details in our artwork absolutely perfect. Some of those finer details might not be entirely visible on the iPhone screen do to its small size, but the iPad retina resolution will reveal just how deep our artwork goes
Same here, enjoyed Fieldrunner since it first launched, and my girlfriend still does please make the app universal! Ill glady pay 5-10 bucks for it aslong as it's not seperate versions.
Hey guys, x-posting a link to a post about a little experiment I'm trying. It's iPhone-launch-date specific, so this isn't really the place for it. However, I wanted to keep you all in the loop since you've been so supportive and excited about Fieldrunners 2. http://forums.toucharcade.com/showthread.php?t=135610&page=7 If this works out, we'll definitely try more surprises like this in the future. Hopefully we can do something special for the iPad launch date very soon. Lots of progress is being made on that version since the iPhone launch date got pushed back. Stay tuned for more info and thanks for being awesome. You guys rock!
will this game have iCloud support? Don't want to start on iPhone if I will have to start over on iPad
Cross platform iCloud will be added in the next update. All game saves, scores, and achievements will carry over seamlessly Let me know if you have any other questions!
It's still in the works. We'll be pushing out an update for both iPhone and iPad versions of the original Fieldrunners in the next few weeks. There's some discussion about other things we'd like to add (namely iCloud support), so that may push the timeline back. Either way, we definitely haven't forgotten. Want to make sure that owners of those versions understand that we still love them and want to make those versions of Fieldrunners absolutely perfect as well. Let me know if you have any other questions. Thanks!
@ AtomicAlec - The most "helpful" reviews for your game on the UK AppStore are actually negative ones - all of them are complaining about the fact that there's no Universal version. I saw a couple of posts where you said you welcome feedback - well the feedback is obvious - people want a Universal HD version like Anomaly Warzone HD, Contre Jour HD, World Of Goo HD, etc, and plenty of Chillingo and Gameloft titles.
Hey DelBoy, thanks for the feedback. We completely understand people's wishes for a universal build, but at this point, that's really not something in the cards for Fieldrunners 2. However, feedback here will have an even bigger impact on future projects. If it's something that people really, really want, we will look more at doing it with our next project. Let me know if you have any other questions. Thanks for letting me know how you feel!
