want some rye? Course ya do... I absolutely loved the beginning (and the rest) of Bioshock. it sucked me in, and I couldn't put down the controller until I had learned all the secrets of Rapture! Brilliant game with lots of cool moments. what ever happened to the iphone version we heard about last year?
Dude I know... Bioshock was such an awesome game... Played it until 6:30 a.m. at my friend's house, slept for an hour, then continued to play until about 10-10:30. it was that awesome. I am DYING for the iPhone version if it's anything as good as the 360 one.
THPS3 and THUG were my favorites, but Underground had more favorite moments, because of the story and all (THPS3 did have me discovering the park creator, and the length of time it takes to make 63 fully completed levels , but it was my FIRST EVER console game, and first 3d action game) But Mass Effect had me by the balls the whole time, if the game world had been any more convincing, fascinating and drawing inny, I would be calling the internet the extranet, asking your opinion on the genophage and asking the doctor for medigel
While I thought THUG was just awesome, I personally liked THAW better. Better trick system, storyline was about the same level of awesomeness, and having the bmx that let you do tricks was crazy. Plus I loved the open world part of the game, being able to ride around the entire game world without any loading screens was a ton of fun.
Another gaming moment i enjoyed would be house of the dead 2 for my wii. As a kid, I loved the arcade game and to one day find it sitting in a gamestop shelf for $20 brought joy to my heart. When i got home that day i put that game in and played it the rest of the day. My favorite part about it was i got to use two guns =D!
I would have to agree. It was the first time a game ever felt...epic, in the truest sense of the word. Still my fondest memory of gaming.
On the subject of epic RPGs... any Baldur's Gate II fans? BG II and the expansion had me sucked in from beginning to end. Tons of awesome moments in those games.
Wow are you serious? I have never heard of anyone saying they liked House of the Dead 2&3 for Wii. I have that bundle too, and it's my least favourite game (excluding all Mario/Sonic/etc games, because I wouldn't even go near them) for Wii, I think it's an absolute piece of garbage they put out. It's odd because I liked the arcade/PC versions of the game too, but they dramatically increased the difficulty in the Wii version for whatever reason, made absolutely no graphical/audio improvements to the game, no new features, and has no save feature for a CONSOLE game. If restarting the whole f***ing game due to the final boss acting totally cheap is Sega's way of fun, then they epic fail at it. Reloading in 2 is also horrible as it's barely noticeable when you have to reload, 3 is slightly better. Replaying the same levels over and over again for extra lives just bored me to death. It's just some lazy repackage of a classic game that was ruined by the attempt to make money. -.-
I'm also going to have to throw in how I beat several arcade games over the years, starting with the time that me and my cousin went through a ton of tokens beating Maze of the King (some game where you go through a tomb and end up killing the pharoh at the end. Best thing is that the levels change every time you play it, excluding the boss battles). Later my friend and I beat Jurassic Park while at an amusement park, then my other friend and I beat House of the Dead 1 for my b-day. Arcade games are so fun...
Another one for me was an old Activision game called Kaboom i played back in high school. Played that thing non stop after i got home from school for weeks. Eventually, i got to one of the high scores only achieved by Kaboom Elitists. Something like half million points or something, cant remember. My friend was there with me at the time cheering me on. When i got it, the game let off fireworks and stuff. We high fived and called all our other friends. Game gave a message that if i sent in a pic of the tv screen proving i had gotten the score, they'd send me a gift. Unfortunately i didnt have film in the camera and eventually had to turn the game off
Arkanigon Quote: "Playing the video game "Cobra Command" in the arcade. My first time seeing actual video in a game" I'll second that! But then I am a little biased lol.
My favorite gaming moment was in pokemon silver. Once I found out I could go to Kanto and get 8 more gym badges, my heart sank. (keep in mind, I was still too young to use the computer for help/reviews)
oh wow! I just checked out your website for the Cobra Command iphone game! I had no idea it was coming to the iphone? Did you work on the original Cobra Command?
And I already have some from Modern Warfare 2: Sneaking into the Russian base place and planting the C4, then making a huge explosion as you and MacTavish are about to be shot up, distracting the enemy and allowing you to escape. The snowmobile chase Learning that there's dual wielding in the game. Driving the jeep into the plane. Using a Barret .50 cal sniper and an F2000 to defend a house while downloading some really important files. Fighting in D.C. and seeing the war-torn landscape Watching the satellite get blown up and seeing the red dot and holographic scopes stop working. And thats about all I have right now without spoiling too much.
My favorite moment is also my worse moment. I bought Fallout 3 for the Xbox360 and I had a couple of days off so I could park my butt on the sofa and spend the day drinking beer, smoking this and that and have my virtual vacation (why not, it's cheap!) After creating my new character, the game started with the scene where the baby is born. The baby opens his eyes and...well...blank screen. The game had crashed and I had to reboot the console. Didn't work, all I could see was the three red lights on the console and the rest, well you know where this is going. I even went on the official Fallout 3 forum and started a thread just like this but it got locked, I was accused of trying to start trouble and the mod told me to take my problems elsewhere. So what was one of the most anticipated moment ended up being one of the biggest dissapoinment I remember, for 4 to 6 weeks anyway.
When I finally figured out how to play Metal Gear Solid, that was pretty awesome. First one I palyed was MGS3 and I was so damned frustrated because I kept getting killed because I still hadn't grasped the concept of stealth. So I played though that first level guns a blazin', well, not guns a blazin', but sucking hard at trying to hide and just gave up and deleted my save. About an hour after that, I was determined and really tried to be patient. And in the following weeks, thanks to my friend who has a PS3, I played though all 4 of the games to my extreme satisfaction.
