For me it would be FF VII for Aerith's death, I got her level 4 limit break, great gospel, for her and didn't expect her to die immediately after that. Huge shock for me, then I realised I was only on CD 1 of 4. I stopped playing for a while after that... Also, COD 1. The first Russian mission where you are in a boat joining the battle of Stalingrad with German planes blowing all your comrades out of the sky while this Russian dude was blasting propaganda at you, saying that the enemy was hungry and low on morale. Epic irony. You don't even use a gun in that mission, a sniper uses you as bait to draw the machinegun fire so he could snipe them, it wasn't that hard but it was definitely crazy.
you might be thinking of 4 when you're in the one room with the two bells and the armored blind people with the wolverine knives are walking around.
My favorite gaming moment was when I managed to kill everyone in the most gruesome ways in Saw the video game.
This is an easy one for me. AN old playstation game called Suikoden. It was the part where the character Gremio died. All who played tried to stop it but it was scripted and it had to happen. There wasnt a dry eye in anyone who loved and played that game. So this cant really be my "favorite", but most definitely the most memorable.
Done. Thanks. Here's another one of my favorites... from Mega Man X2. ***Mega Man X/X2 Spoiler Warning!*** Zero, who is basically X's mentor, dies in the first game. If you collect all of Zero's parts in the second game, you're treated to something very special. Just before the final boss fight, Zero - now resurrected - blasts down a door, blows up "evil" Zero, and dashes in to save the day... accompanied by some wicked 80's-ish midi rock. The Man I still get giddy whenever I play through that part... and I usually head back to X1 & 2 every few months. Good stuff. ***End Spoiler Warning***
Silent Hill II: When James pops the video cassette into the VCR at the hotel and realizes how Mary actually died. Saddest, most moving moment of any game I've ever played.
you want to talk about sad? Fable 2, when that guy is about to shoot you, and your dog jumps in the way and blocks the shot. I cried many man tears over that scene.
Oh man... I just finished Fable 2 the other day. That was gut-wrenching And how about the choice you have to make at the end of the game? I actually had to sit there and wrangle over the decision - most instances like that have clear-cut good/evil options... but man, that was hard!
Yeah, I did 3 playthroughs though so i saw each ending ! but the first time i played i had to resurrect the dog because that scene was so sad
Last boss of kingdom hearts was mad hard and it felt great once it was over. Wind waker last boss was cool too that game actually may be my favorite zelda game. Come to think of it I haven't had like a crazy awe inspiring ending in a while. Maybe mw2 will
Well, I got a few more: Watching my Dad beat Punch-Out! in the arcade. And other than a few N64 games he really doesn't even play video games. Gears 2: The deaths of Carmine and Tai. Holy crap that was just sad... because we lost two of the best characters. The part with Maria was pretty sad too but after the part where Carmine got killed I went on a chainsaw spree. The first 2 cutscenes in Final Fantasy X. The opening one that plays when you first turn the game on is just amazing, then the one right before you fight the sinspawn and meet up with Auron. Plus I love that song (Which for those who don't know is called Overworld.) Getting a class up in Final Fantasy Anniversary Edition. I worked so long for that and I finally got it. Super fun. Too bad my knight doesn't have andy mp though. Getting an across the map headshot no scope (I think it was no scope) while my friend was jumping on Blood Gulch in the PC version of halo. We were playing in the school library through the LAN network. Like I said before the entire ending of Metal Gear Solid 2 after you get your gear back. It was just crazy after that with the elevator battle, strange calls, then the battle against all the Metal Gear Rays, followed by the final battle ON TOP OF A GOVERNMENT BUILDING! That was such a great fight. Any time a Lancer Rifle is used properly in any Gears game. By properly I mean a nice chainsaw through the opponent. Getting the Ray Gun for the first time in Nazi Zombies. The whole ending mission to World at War was really epic though, especially the part where you're raising the Russian flag at the end... too epic. Adding to Phoenix Wright, any time that it looks like you're about to lose the case but the someone randomly yells OBJECTION! or HOLD IT! to end up saving you from a guilty verdict. Plus any time Maya says something completely stupid/random. Doing a fatality. How is that not awesome. Unless you don't like video game violence, then nevermind. Watching Robet Kendo get killed in Resident Evil 2. It got me the first time, I'll admit it. I'm still wondering how he lasted so long with HUGE GLASS WINDOWS! Playing with the Magnum in RE3 was also a TON of fun. I just ran around Raccoon City blowing zombie heads off. It was way too fun. There's just too many great moments in gaming for me really. I'm sure there's a load more but I don't have time to list them all.
Yeah, my programmer and I had some seriously epic Link/Ganondorf battles. Good memories. ***More Mega Man X Spoilers*** Haha, yeah basically. He dies again in X5 and then comes back in X6... somehow. Truth be told, I totally didn't get how it worked. But the first time... amazing ***End Mega Man X Spoilers*** Well put.
Final Fantasy 7. Final blow(s) to Sephiroth. It was just so awesome when you got to finally use the most powerful attack combo in the game. I can't even remember how many times it hit him. It was just awesome!
Shooting the crap out of and killing Jaws in Goldeneye for N64. The last battle in FF2, when the last boss wipes out the entire party except for Ceicel and you think you are going in with just Ceicel alone to get the damn job done. The rest of the party comes back but that moment when it makes you think it's going to be a 1:1 battle to the finish was pretty epic. The opening scene of FF8 where you are fighting with Sepiroth (I think it was Sepiroth at least) and he smacks you with the butt of his sword and the blood starts flowing. I remember thinking at the time that those were the best graphics I had ever seen in a video game Playing online multiplayer Turok for PS3, sneaking up on people and getting them with a deathblow with the knife! They never see it coming. The first time I used cheats on GTA3 and got all the weapons and had massive, epic battles with the police forces! Beating the 3rd level on Samurai: Way of the Warrior, pre-update Playing with General Leo in FF3 and spending literally days trying to find a secret to keep him in the party or get him back. That's all for now.
