Edit: changed "favorite" to "favorite/most memorable"

What are your favorite/most memorable moments in gaming? They can be from any platform, not just iPhone/iPod touch.

    ***SPOILER WARNING! Zelda spoiler ahead!***

    Here's my all-time favorite...

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time
    Ganondorf’s transformation to Ganon

After defeating Ganondorf and escaping his crumbling tower, Link, Zelda, and Navi stand together staring at the rubble. Link runs in to investigate an eerie sound from the obliterated castle, when all of a sudden Ganondorf bursts from the wreckage, stares Link straight in the face, and flashes his Triforce of Power. He then violently transforms into the massive beast, Ganon. When it’s over, Link is left helpless in the center of a ring of fire sans Master Sword (the only weapon that can defeat Ganon) staring straight up at the gargantuan King of Evil.

This entire scene, including the ensuing battle, is my favorite moment in gaming, hands-down. The atmosphere is perfect – the wicked transformation, the lightning flashes, the darkened sky, the ring of fire, the haunting music… it all combines to create one of the most epic moments ever. I still get chills whenever I play through it – I even got some as I was writing this.

    Okay, I'm scared.

    ***END SPOILER***

Yes, I’m a nerd. I’d like to hear what other people consider to be their favorite/most memorable gaming moments as well.

For me, the opening of Final Fantasy 7. It was my first game after a long break from games. It was pretty exciting to see how far games had come.

All of Tales of Symphonia was my favorite moment.

It was the revival of my love for video games after such a long time.

I just posted a lot about the 1000 heartless battle in KH2, but Safari ate it. Long story short: OMGWTF how is this possible on a PS2!?!

    Also:
    - Playing Chrono Trigger on New Game+ over and over for all of elementary school.
    - Last boss of Kingdom Hearts 2, because it's like playing FF7 Advent Children :)
    - Playing Golden Sun for the first time and finding out that holy crap, it's in 3D!!
    - The ending of FF7 - Crisis Core, and then finding out about and watching the PS1 FF7 version on youtube.
    - The last case in Phoenix Wright 3, when you found out that it ties together EVERY SINGLE CASE EVER (except 2) from the past 3 games. Which is like 12 cases!
    - Mario Galaxy's soundtrack. (And the game as well.)

..And I gotta say it. I'm sick of hearing about Aqua Globs, DGH!

Amen to that! For me, Mario Galaxy is the "happiest" game ever made. I love the toads, especially the sound they make when you hop on them - makes me smile every time :D

Fantastic soundtrack, bright characters, awesome gameplay... I love it. So excited for the sequel!

It's too bad some people can't get over the weird camera... I helped a friend of mine get a Wii this month; picked out a few games for him. He played Mario Galaxy once (for a couple of hours, he gave it a fair chance) and then returned it :(

I loved SMG, but I honestly didn't have the patience to find every single star. I mean, I got close with Mario, and had like 3 stars left, but when I heard I had to play every single damn world again as Luigi, I was like, no, **** this. I'm not rescuing the princess again.

As for my actual favorite gaming moments... I don't necessarily have one. All I remember is like a solid period of euphoria when I had my DS. I loved that thing.

Well I have quite a lot just reiterating "completing a game"(which are mostly rpgs), so I'll give one that happened recently.

I saw on youtube where this one guy on CoD 5 was behind a guy and messaged him to turn around then kill him when he turns around. I did that on knee deep *twice* in the same game.

probably the most recent gaming moment that i like is the ending to borderlands. if you don't want a spoiler, stop reading now.

Anyways, the final boss in borderlands, although easy is probably one of the coolest bosses i have ever seen in a video game. I took one look at him and images of cthulu came rushing to my mind.

Almost all cut-scenes from Final Fantasy VII, especially the death of Aeris. That shocked me to the heart.

Resident Evil 1: The dog smashing through the glass

Super Mario Kart: Finally beating the Rainbow Road on Expert, and every game on Battle Mode on the 2nd map

Super Mario Land: The cute ending!

Metal Gear Solid: The cut scene near the beginning when the Hind-D copter cut scene has it fly by, and the dual shock controller vibrates in intensity. And the mind-control freak suddenly changing the TV display!

Far Cry: When you realise that even if you hide in bushes, the mercenaries will STILL hunt you out.

Playing the video game "Cobra Command" in the arcade. My first time seeing actual video in a game:

This one gets honorable mention because it wasn't an awesome cutscene like it should have been...

    Doing nothing of importance.
    Somewhere
Every single moment in Metal Gear Solid. Holy crap man, that was just the sickest game ever. Had some of the best boss fights too, like Psycho Mantis, Sniper Wolf, and Vulcan Raven. The cutscenes really made the game for me though, I never skipped a single one just to get to the game. The end section of Metal Gear Solid 2, along with the part with E.E. (I won't say anything, but those who have played know what I'm talking about) were just crazy. Saddest parts in a game ever were Sniper Wolf and that. Plus who gets killed at the end of the game is just... wow. Again, not saying anything.

Crisis Core: Again, another one of those games. Kinda a slow start, but once you get into it it's an AMAZING game. I'm almost done with it and I'm trying to recall one single part that was just crazy. The Angeal fight was really good, so that's probably it.

Tony Hawk Series: I've played and beaten every single game in the series (even Downhill Jam which wasn't that bad after all). The best parts were the ending of American Wasteland (the best one for me) and beating Eric at the end of Underground. Plus blowing up Skatopia and giving Beverhausen a mega-wedgie from a crane in THUG2.

Phoenix Wright: I don't even know where to start... Probably the ending of all the cases. The most memorable was maybe seeing Mia come back at the end of Case 2 because it was like "HOLY CRAP!". Plus just those "THAT'S IT! I KNOW HOW IT HAPPENED!" moments in every case in the game. It's just too great. Watching the murderer confess is also quite fun, which they conveniently do in every case.

Call of Duty: THe sniper in World at War was a ton of fun. Then COD 4 was just crazy. Shooting Zakahev in the arm with the .50 calibur sniper was so fun, then taking down the copter was just amazing, then the ending where you get the gun from Price... too good.

And thats about it for now. I'll think about more but off the top of my head thats it.

Definitely finding the T-rex in the first Tomb Raider. Me and my cousin were playing it and weren't even kind of expecting it. We screamed like little girls and ran until it ate us.

Ocarina of Time was the only quality Zelda game that came out, all the rest were cheap/crappy imitators. My favourite part of that game was all the minigames and bosses, such as horseback archery, racing, and throwing bombs at targets at the shooting gallery place.
The cabin survival chapter in Resident Evil 4 was also good.
The duels from Sangokushi 11, as well as incident dialogues were excellent.
And also lots of CRPGs that no one here would recognize, had some amazingly moving moments not found in all other games.

Dead Space: The part where you just walk through the door and this *spoiler* (highlight) huge arm grabs you and you have to shoot it before it pulls you into its hole *spoiler*, that just scared the crap out of me.

Resident Evil (I forgot which one): The part where you're in that room full of those things (I was never too keen on monster names) that react to sound, especially when you realize that one know you're there.
