Keep in mind its for the PC, they're both $50 on Steam and i am having major difficulty choosing. both have their own gameplay but i can only have one or suggest another game? but these two seem like the best options.
I bought Fallout 3 for PS3 last year at 7-11 for $25 and I could never really get into it.. I would go with L4D2 because more numerals equals more value.
They're both extremely good. But you'd probably put more hours in L4D2. There's like 5 modes, and they're all pretty unique and very fun.
Wow... that is a tough choice. I've played both a ton... and I have to say Fallout 3. Left 4 Dead 2 is amazing, but unless you plan to play online, go for Fallout. Awesome storyline sorta thing (it has good missions), great dialouge, an awesome combat system, VATS, and the bloody mess perk at level 6. When you can make a person explode from shooting them with a teddy bear, I think you need that game. L4D2 is also great. Non stop action throughout the whole thing. And unbelieveable amounts of gore. It's been upgraded so that they pretty much desintegrate as you shoot them. Shoot one in the face with a shotgun, and it pretty much has no more face. It's just as awesome as it sounds. WAY better campaigns, day levels, and melee weapons make this a ton better than the first. So yeah, my vote is for Fallout, but you can't go wrong either way. It was my favorite game for the longest time, and that really says something. So much content and hidden things to do. If you've played Borderlands, it's like a more serious and story based version of that. If not, I suggest watching some gameplay.
L4D is just way too arcade-like for me, nothing that's fun about a real zombie outbreak is in there. It might as well be a lightgun game. Fallout 3 is badass though, 50 hours minimum.
Fallout 3 hands down. One of if not the best game I have ever played. Edit: Especially if you live in Australia, the Australian version of L4D2 is retarded.
Lol yeah it is... no head/limb shots... Only a VERY tiny amount of blood and then corpse appears... and then disappears after a few seconds. Very lame. Even the low gore setting in the American version has more than that. Wonder what the opening cutscene looks like... It had a TON of blood/guts. And my favorite quote of the game.
It wouldn't have gimmick zombies for a start, and you'd have to scavenge properly... no big colorful icons pointing to the nearest box of shells
I've been playing enough games with dark, sinister settings (Half-Life, Arkham Asylum, Bioshock) that it might affect my opinion, but I say L4D2. I personally get tired of a game after 20 hours or so and like exploring to a point. Please tell me the steam version has multiplayer! That would make replay value (to me, at least) incredibly high for me. I'd play it for at least a year.
I'm tired, going through homework for 6 different classes, and I own a Mac. Sorry if I'm not the embodiment of a perfect nerd.
