Command and Conquer: Red Alert LASW is the best like mentioned b4 BTW isnt highborn TBS instead of RTS?
I'm opposed to including GalCon, that's the kind of RTS-like I've been trying to avoid on the lengthy search for a proper RTS. If you include GalCon there's a crapload of clones of it you have to include and then the list gets as cluttered and useless as the App Store's strategy section.
I agree with this- Galcon only fits the RTS definition very, very loosely. It's more like a real-time puzzle game.
Red Conquest is by far the most complete game I've seen. Campaign, multiplayer (small community but it will get bigger I'm sure), challenge missions, skirmish, different factions, tons of maps in different sizes, great and awesome controls, autosave on exit, fast load times, great sound and graphics, zoom function, great strategy etc. So yea it's the best IMO
Honestly I think RC is the best suited for the idevice as well. Lasw is the better game in some ways, but it really doesn't match hoe intuitive and innovative red conquest is. Lol it's 2 a.m. now, shoot me pm tomorow and we can catch a game or 2.
okie it's barely 12am here, sure or if someone wants to play some RTS on red conquest you can PM me for my instant push notification email
So should I give the axe to Galcon and Galcon labs? Don't worry about what I think, voice your opinions on what should/should not be on the list because I trust you guys WAAAY more than I trust myself.
Scratches head Galcon may not have *all* of the hallmarks of traditional RTS . . . its a very simplified RTS, but its sure as heck not a puzzle game.
Just keep Galcon, or put Galcon and all other forms. If castle warriors is up there, Galcon needs to be. Also, you could always sub-catagorise the RTS games into: Side scrolling (e.g. Trenches/Crystal War) Top Down (LASW and Warfare Inc., the stereotypical RTS game) Other (Galcon, Hills and Rivers, etc) Also, does Modern conflict count?
You know I was thinking about doing that because it may not be a "traditional RTS" but it is real time and it does have strategy involved. But it would be one big apps (hehe...) list but I'm all for it so when I get home I can get busy expanding into different lists. So if you guys want you can go ahead and listing out some. (BTW if you can put down what type of rts it is I would greatly appreciate it! )
