NOVA is getting pulled down because of those cheaters and hackers, and Gameloft won't even fix it. I don't think they even care as long as the game works. (remeber Ferrari GT? still no multiplayer and it's 2010!)
Eliminate is a very good FPS (in my view the best in the whole store), but you've got a point! The energy recharge system nerves. Okay my equip is fully upgraded (Infiltrator and Vaporizer), so I don't need powercells anymore. I bought many powercells for over 60... And now I use my credits for sprinter suits and for upgrading my assault. I think the costs for powercells are way too high!
I think you are wrong. You CAN keep playing for as long as you would like, just don't get any credits. And the point you credits for is to play the game, right? You can still have fun. One of my favorite games, and I never payed a single penny.
I don't really see how your being "ripped off" by a free game. I think its a great game. I dont really play it anymore, but still you dont HAVE to buy power cells, like mentioned in previous posts you dont need power cells to have fun and beat some of the higher levels. You are in no way implied to buy the powercells. Still, haters will hate it, fans will love it. There's no point in trying to convince a hater to like a game if he doesnt like it. Just leave it be.
I start to get bored with FPS after 4 or 5 matches, so Eliminate works perfectly for me. Play until the energy gets depleted, get bored, go do something else, get the itch again, play when energy is recharged, end of day. Works for me!
the pricing scheme is so overpriced, and the way to play/progress is through buying credits or waiting a looong time. NOVA cost me $7, if I wanted to be half as good in Eliminate as I am in NOVA, that would cost me like $20-$30.. or a months worth of playing.. yawn Plus they dont even have grenades
OH. MY. GOODNESS. HOW COULD THEY LEAVE OUT THE GRENADES? The nerve of ngmoco do do such a thing . . .
I say this, and then I really start to get into a gaming session earlier to be cut off by lack of energy! While I appreciate the freeness of it, I did wonder when I first got it why ngmoco didn't just release a $5 game or something, but I don't know the numbers behind it. If there are people buying up powercells all the time, then they are probably making more money that way. However, I think that this game is one of the better DLC content games (freemium) I've seen so far. At least you can PLAY the full game without having to buy extras, unlike some other games (*cough* Skies of Glory *cough*). Plus, I think this title fits really well in the whole "iPhone in short bursts" gaming philosophy. In that sense, it's a great value.
