    You know guys... Even though it may seem that the "a lot of money does nearly nothing" and "other players who pay are a lot better than you" make sense on their own, they don't together. The first reason states that you'd have to pay a very large sum to actually get significantly better than other players. The second states that the ability to pay for better equipment puts a handicap on those who don't.

    People don't realize that other people are just as unwilling to fork up sums greater than a buck or two on a game like this. Those who do spend a buck or two don't get much of a boost; possibly only another upgrade to one particular stat or two. People who spend their life's earnings on power cells are far and in between. The reason we all seem to suck more than the next guy is probably because they actually do play more and are better, therefore earning more credits, more often. Ergo, more upgrades.

    And guys. You don't even have to play it. You can always play Quake Live if you're fed up with ngmoco.

    At least this is better than the purchasables that those garbage text-MMOs attempt to sell. It doesn't affect me because I don't play Eliminate anyways. I deleted the game within 2 minutes after seeing how horrible the controls were. I wasted a few pennies on electricity downloading it. :rolleyes:

    I'm not going to flame this one. I think eliminates pay model works. It allows those without money play for free, while letting those with money catch all the bills. Everytime you play a game, ngmocco is paying. That server space is not free. They have to make thier money somehow. I think it's pretty cool that sone games are like this. The less financially able people still get to play the game to no real lesser of value, and those who are essentially donating to the app get some rewards. That's how I see it. And fir the record, I'm not an eliminate fanboy. While I've spent nearly 75$ on eliminate, I do t even play it anymore since the 1.1 update. But when I did play it, I liked it. I play nova now, single player is more my style.

    thats the point.

    ngmoco made this scheme as they thought they'd make more money.

    i like eliminate,it has good graphic and all it's leaderboards,and you don't have to spent a cent if you don't want.I spend about 3$ for this game because it's free but this is the right price for this game,form me.and I taked the best from all the promo-offers that ngmoco made.
    don't kill me but I think that this is not a bad business model if you aren't an ass even because you can try a game that is free so if you don't like it you can just delete it and stop complaining about it :)

    I agree too. I mean think about it. If you just pay 10 dollars for thefull gameand unlimitedplay time then it is much cheaper than paying 24 bucks for 240 power cells it's just stupidthe game isn't that great anyway ngmoco really ripped us on this one.

    I didn't quit playing Eliminate and switch to NOVA because of it's bulls**t credit system, I quit Eliminate because of it's bulls**t controls. It made an attempt to mimic the amazingly fluid control scheme of Modern Combat: sandstorm but somehow failed miserably. in fact, I'm pretty sure it's the only game to catastrophically fail at those controls. For instance, Nova and Sandstorm got it spot on along with one of my favorite apps, CoD Zombies.

    And that is the reason Eliminate is a heaping pile of steaming bullsh*t and I only play the awesome multiplayer of NOVA and Cod Zombies.

    Just turn on autoshoot or w/e in options and the controls for Eliminate are fine.

    I have to agree with the post above on the controls ^^^^ After playing Eliminate from day one it's still doesn't feel 100% natural with the scrolling effect that makes everything worse while you lag and have troubles following your opponent.

    The DLC business model-bashing.... I have to disagree!

    It's a fair move from ngmoco to let everyone download and play it for free. If you don't like it let it rest or delete. You get constant updates now even without Apples approval and it's fun to upgrade...this is where the game actually takes place... finding your own way to success by deciding which armor to upgrade and which weapon to get and focusing only on that... you cannot buy all weapons instantly and have them maxed out... that would cost nearly 10000 USD or so. I'm not far away from reaching Level 75 (haven't seen anyone higher yet)...while some may think I paid 500$ on cells...I did NOT!...

    Please guys follow my calculation:

    You get a free energized game (4 cells) every two hours...
    so in 24 hours you get 48 cells = 12 games for free.
    in 20 days you get 20*48 = 960 cells...that's cells worth 30 dollars.
    It took me only two weeks to get to level 48... If you play daily and use up all free energy you will get to level 48 within 25 days by playing 2 hours daily or so. FREEEE FREEE FREEE FREEE you don't need to pay one thing!

    So again ngmoco is giving you 30$ worth of cells every 20 days... you heard it here first... all you have to do is fire it up and play... that's it!

    Now the DLC business is meant for players not wishing to wait 20 days... say you pay 30$... will you use up all your cells within 2 days? That would be stuipid right? So even it those 1000 cells will last 15 days... you would have gotten that far by playing free only 5-10 days later...

    I agree on one point though... Cells should be cheaper WAAAYYYYY cheaper... I would recommend 1$ for unlimited cells for one whole day. So you can take out 4 hours and level up during that time. 1 USD is not much and people can decide when they want to focus on playing. Once you get addicted you will buy that 10-20x at least... so it's the same money in the end but you can decide on how much you want to get out of the money invested.

    Basically, if you buy 1 day unlimited energy your energy bar should glow radioactive-green with a 24 hour time starting from that point on, so you know how much time is left. Similar to the current next charge timer.

    Sooo... what you're saying is that you woke up in the middle of the night and took time while at work to play this game so you wouldn't waste energy cells?

    Now with the taunting limit it takes even longer too level up. Probably over 2 months to get to 50..

    Nope... I'm usually playing it in bed. at 01.00 am.. then in the morning. 7.00 am when I wake up to get me going.
    then at lunch at 1.00pm-2.00pm

    then at 7.00 pm again... and then in bed.

    So it's

    01.00 am 12 cells -> after playing 0
    7.00 am 12 cells -> 0
    1.00 pm 12 cells -> 0
    7.00 pm 12 cells -> 0
    ------
    By playing for 20 minutes every 6 hours you can get 48 free cells.... playing it for hours is just a waste of time IMHO... playing it for 15-20 Minutes is the most I would ever want to spend time on it and doing it every 6 hours is ok too.... you still get your 80 minutes gameplay per day fully energized... even the most hardcore players should be happy with that.

    PRO TIP:
    After playing your free cells what the timer saying like 105:00 minutes till next recharge... so it's 4 hours + 105 minutes. You can use the clocks app on your iPhone to set yourself a coundown reminder to play again after 5 hours and 45 minutes...
    Basically everytime you played for 20 minutes fully recharged go and set a countdown for 5 hours and 40 minutes to be reminded to play again...
    Once it rings you have 120 minutes time frame in order to get your 48 free cells. if you play in 3 hours after that you have lost 4 cells since it's already fully recharged and the countdown cycle will again start at 120 minutes.

    I never taunted... maybe only level 1-20 but after that you get killed too easily to actually earn credits with it.
